Quote from: tiempo on January 23, 2025, 02:20:38 PMMakes no sense unless there is a quality champions league eligible replacement in waiting that will be announced in tandem

I see Tierney made a cameo for Arsenal last night, Arteta wouldn't be that much of a pedant that he'd cup tie Tierney in case Arsenal and Celtic meet in the knock outs? Sums up his treatment of Tierney if so

Celtic have achieved the goal of reaching the Knock out stages of the CL. Kyogo deal was kept quiet until this was achieved. I do hope Kyogo money is to fund a decent signing .... as in someone better than Kyogo.

Quote from: gallsman on January 22, 2025, 07:30:36 AMAre you saying a clear penalty on the basis of that clip or is there a better angle? Looks like a massive dive to me.

Have a soft spot for Barca, but the Benfica player was jumped all over bearing down on goal.

What ever is happening in the dressing room and on the training pitch, there seems to be a terrible culture there. Scouts just can't be buying so many duds - Nearly all of these players have done well before coming to Utd and many do well after.

Ferguson had a similar problem when he became Manager in '86 - but at a higher level. He had to do a fair clear out - which was not popular. In many cases he replaced Top players with more sturdy reliable ones. It took him half a decade to make Man Utd consistent.

Quote from: Armagh18 on January 21, 2025, 09:30:11 PMAntony gone on loan.

Take it United are still paying a fair bit of his wages? What a woeful signing.

Better to be paying half his wages with him not at the club.
Than playing full wages and him doing nothing while at the club.

Last goal very controversial. Clear penalty for Benfica - Barca break away and score. VAR bottles making a huge call!

Last play of Benfica v  Barcelona

Quote from: RedHand88 on January 19, 2025, 03:31:28 PMAs it stands United are 10 above the drop, having played an extra game. They will be looking over their shoulder as we come into the spring, especially as you'd expect Everton and Tottenham to get their act together with new management.

They'll pick up enough points against the BIG clubs to see them safe.

Have lose count to the amount of blue tick nobodies on twitter who use the Stake Gambling company whenever they tweet any image.

They are nearly as bad as Anonymous posters on irrelevant forums.

Quote from: Dag Dog on January 18, 2025, 07:07:15 PMUtd beat Southampton with late goals - Liverpool fans claim it's a pathetic showing from the club.
Liverpool beat Brentford with late goals - We're going to win the league, nothing will stop us.

Honest Liverpool supporters aren't to be criticised. Even on here they'll soon move on from the poor mouthing to counting down the matches before they are officially crowned league champions. And yes nothing will stop them as no other team are good enough to mount a serious title challenge.

Thems the breaks, Man Utd won a title with 75 in 1997 with 21-12-5. Newcastle finished 2nd on 68 .... yes 68!

This Arsenal team are better than the invincibles at getting draws.
