Id say everyone would be picking those four.
The question is which team is most likely to cause and upset?

I think everyones on the same page that its Glen's to lose.
Magherafelt actualy look a good bet there at 9/1. Nothing else looks worthwhile.

Id be curious to hear what people think outside of Glen Sneil Mfelt if they had to choose?

Quote from: GTP on June 23, 2024, 06:36:21 PMLooks like a third game of the championship between Derry and Armagh in the final.

First game Derry won by 17, second game Derry won by 2, using interpolation I suggest that Armagh will win by 13. However, I'd be quite happy with 1.

Or maybe we will just split the difference and beat you by 9 or 10 ;)

Impressive performance from Armagh today all the same. Should be a good final

Quote from: imtommygunn on June 18, 2024, 07:29:02 AMYou would expect Derry to have a significantly greater chance than either of those 2. Monaghan on current form should be beat by 5 or 6 at least. Tyrone are TBD really so while I do think they will win by 5 or 6 I wouldn't be shocked if it were very close either.

Derry are just an unknown. Not sure on Mayo's consistency either. It could go any way.

I'd like to see Louth beat Cork.

Unknown? We've seen them play 4 Championship games and theyve lost 3 of them. Their one win was against an okay/average Westmeath team and even still they didnt get it easy. Id say we know plenty about Derry.

Quote from: statto on June 05, 2024, 09:57:23 AMIf Derry beat Westmeath and end up drawing Tyrone be some craic in here.

Could be a poetic end to a season and a nail in Mickeys coffin or one of the best bouncebacks weve seen in a long time.
Unlikely though as Tyrone will be expecting to beat cork i would say.
Hard to predict who derry could get if they beat westmeath (big if). Looking at the other groups does anyone know if even points means it goes to score difference or head to head?

Quote from: Brendan on June 02, 2024, 08:01:08 AMAre Slaughtneil in any real trouble in the league? 2nd from bottom having played a game more?

They should manage to pick up a few points in the last few games to finish above steelstown id imagine.

On another note has the league ever been less reflective of the actual team rankings? Kilrea and dungiven at the top, castledawson above glen and ballinderry 4 spots above slaugtneil. Obviously this is a result of lads at the county but even still you wouldnt have predicted it being this juggled.

Quote from: Christmas Lights on May 09, 2024, 11:22:00 PMIt's just really a procession at this stage.  If Cargin went all out, they win the league.  They will cruise to another championship this year.  There is nobody stopping them.  We are watching Man City like dominance and its hard to know where it will end.

I dont know if Cargin have ever really cruised to a championship.

Since 20218:
Beat Creggan by a point (and well say no more about that game)
Beat Lamh Dearg by 2 (after a replay)
Beat Greggan by 3
Didn't get to final
Beat Aghagallon by 3
And then last year beat an overachieving Dunloy team by 5

Looking form the outside it would appear that they are there for the taking!
If you want to see actually cruising/dominance look at the Derry Senior Championships (either code)  :-\

Quote from: imtommygunn on May 07, 2024, 10:29:07 AM;D  Changes like the wind. Harte will be the second coming of the messiah if he delivers anything for derry.

I cant imagine so. I get the feeling its personal with him and Harte.
If Derry do have a successful season (all ireland final) brolly will use his platform to talk about the leaders on the pitch and namedrop how he was chatting to conor glass just last week and told him exactly how to mark brian fenton

I agree with scrapping them to free up an extra week and i think the team that finishes top should be the league champions simple as that. But im not sure it would totally solve that problem. Eg a team could have the league won after 6 rounds and so field a weakened team in their last game to give their lads rest. this could result in the same situation that canavan described happened last year.

Id imagine Derry go in as favorites for this final?
Cormac Murphy seems like a great find. A player who can score in a range of ways and always seems to be good for a goal for Magherafelt. Could he be the missing piece to this Derry forward line?
