clubs are tightening the ££

Managers should not be getting paid in club football.

Fully agree, the paid manager and coach is the ruination of the game. You'll find that most of the teams playing negative football have outside management teams in place. The fear of losing and being put off the money train. Very hard to outlaw, if a rule was brought in that no outside managers allowed you'd get get some patsy to be named manager and real guy would still be getting paid off the record. Clubs need to put a stop to it themselves. One club I know paid out 2700 a month on management team

Some of the 1995 panel gathered at an event for Jody Gormley.

What's with all the midget forward lines? Maybe there was a high restriction in the new rules, I haven't really followed.

Have any other finals been as big of robbery as that yesterday? I can't remember any, Aghaloo should have won that game by around 6 points, they lost it far more than Killeeshil won it but that won't matter to hoops. It is unbelievable the reach of Tyrone TV also, some talk about this junior game across the whole of Tyrone and beyond

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on October 14, 2024, 01:34:49 AMBad pass, actually overcarried before passing, possible foul on the keeper. But the lad should turned and went the other way.

The goal they conceded in the first half was also criminal.

I believe Ben McDonald will be playing full back for Errigal in the replay.

Quote from: BG_Gael on September 23, 2024, 11:13:20 AMJust noticed in the fixtures Killeeshil are down to play this Friday night in the Junior Championship Semi Final, and then are due to play the Junior Reserve Final on Sunday? Surely this can't be right?

Does this matter? Players who play on the Friday night are not eligble for the Sunday. The reserve championship should be moved forward in the calendar, maybe even during the starred games period of the season.

Quote from: WT4E on September 21, 2024, 03:05:38 PMClogher relegated on penos. That's a tough one.

Penalties suited the county board when the game doesn't draw as big a gate

If I were from Clogher (thankfully I'm not) I would be appealing the decision for penalties and be looking that game replayed and right it should

Both clubs would have been aware before the game that it would go to penalties if the game finished a draw after extra time. That would have been the time to dispute it, not after you've lost the penalty shootout. I do feel for Clogher though, they have held their own in intermediate football for the last 5 years after having been a junior club for 20 years or so. I would fully expect them to be competing for the junior league/championship next season and they will no doubt be looking forward to their game against Augher with Dara Kavanagh next season.

Augher and Clogher would have played each other three times in the last five years, so I don't think this playing Augher will be any comfort to the Clogher players this morning. The split in junior football next year could make that top junior division very tight. Would expect Tattyreagh to run away with the bottom division.

Johnny Lafferty is there as a coach not a player. I think he featured for Urney in the championship.

I believe Carrickmore minor management were involved in a physical altercation with each other at the end of the league playoff final on Saturday. Not a great example to be setting to young people. Too much of this type of behaviour in our games. Some of the supporters are a disgrace also with the volley of abuse being shouted from the terraces. Madness. Just a rose tattoo away from English hooliganism

Regarding the posters saying about the season May-August/September being too short I tend to agree.

I think the best foot forward would be to hold a non County player mini league in March April. Take D1 as the example, break it into 2 groups of 8. Play 7 games. Has to be stakes though to make it any value, something like top of the group gets 3 points in the ACL, second gets 2 points and third gets 1 point.

Castlederg won 2-14 to 1-15 according to the website?
