Sean Og came close too, Ciaran would be a massive boost to the hurlers and he's still young, he's got his medal and with the season the Dubs had last year (I thought they should have at least got to the final) he'd be a big asset to the team.

It's a major thing to hang up the hurl (although playing for the club) and concentrate solely on one code. When is he making his decision?

Don't forget Eamonn O'Conghaile too. If he comes through like he can it would make the Dublin midfield frighteningly good.

You mean Emmet O'Conghaile? Parents from the Aran Islands so if the Dubs don't want him he can always come back west.

Aye, I can never spell his surname so I looked it up from a teamsheet and It only had the initial for his first name  :-[

He's a bit like your own FOC and Flynn, talented ball players that still have some physical development left to do to make it at senior.

Alan Kerins was the last to come close. Played in both finals in 01 but narrowly lost the hurling first. Hard to see where the next one will come from.

Pat Dunney, the great Kildare dual star, came close to equalling Des Foley's feat when he won Hurling and Football medals over the same weekend in 1974. However, unlike Des, Pat won his medals on different days.

CiarĂ¡n Kilkenny scored the winner today for the footballers in Mullingar. Is that an indication of which game he might choose this year?

Jinxy

Yeah, if he missed he'd be playing for the hurlers.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

There is more chance of me toggling out for the hurlers this year than him
