Very impressed with Arsenal this season and that's without a decent keeper, left back, striker and left winger. They bring in quality in those positions (Timber might be good enough for LB) they could definitely push on next year

Quote from: lurganblue on May 14, 2024, 11:16:53 PMAbsolutely delighted to have secured 4th place and CL football. From sitting near relegation when Emery took over last season to this moment is such a huge achievement. 5 years since the owners took charge of the club in the championship.

Are yis pretty close to FFP or whatever you call it now? Who goes so you can bring in players? Watkins, Luis?

Surely it is so easy for yer doll to prove Gadd and Netflix wrong...look no 9 month prison sentence...sue papers incoming?

Watched the interview and thought she was a bit mental. Stated she hadn't watch the show but knew a fair bit about it.

Still managed to make a 4-0 lead nervy!

Is Taylor in the shit? What was he doing? Gakpo should've put the ball away regardless

It's a combo of the best manager about, financial clout, and recruitment...city haven't skipped a beat after replacing legends like Kompany, Fernandinho, Silva, Aguero, etc

Performances over the last month or so have resembled a lot of last season

Quote from: J70 on April 09, 2024, 11:56:27 PMThe only established world class player Klopp signed was Thiago. For all the rest, they were making their first step up to an elite level club (and in the earlier years, a club climbing back to that level).

But obviously Klopp and his reputation and record were a huge factor for Liverpool that will be hard to replicate at first. Luckily there is a high level squad there now and the opportunity for the next man to get a good head start. Outside of replacing Matip this summer, are there any obvious holes to be filled? The biggest talking points will be the contracts of Salah, Van Dijk and Trent.

Do we need to replace Matip? Quansah (the odd stray pass aside ::) ) has been excellent this season. We have VVD, Konate, Gomez, & Quansah. You bring someone in, you talking about 40 + mil no doubt to take minutes away from Quansah. I think I'd rather promote another youth player to 5th choice.

Quote from: J70 on April 06, 2024, 07:48:32 PMI think Arsenal will probably win all their games.

Away to spurs is defo no gimme but they have been very impressive since the turn of the year. Not conceding goals either unlike Liverpool and City.

Hopefully they get past Bayern and then meet City in the semis. Be interesting how they cope with having to play their best 11 Wednesday/Saturday for a few weeks
