Saw a tour guide with a bunch of rain soaked Americans the other day at the top of Donegall place pointing down the street saying "this is Belfasts biggest shopping street, we will meet back here in an hour".
She was deadly serious too. I pitied them.

Victoria Square would be the biggest shopping area in Belfast, well the area with the most amount of retailers and decent places to eat!

that's gonna change soon, "Royal Exchange", the area from Royal Avenue round to North Street and Donegall Street, will be given the go ahead to be redeveloped. this will involve lots of demolition, realigning roads and rebuilding

Barry Cassidy and Anthony Nolan are the All Ireland football semi final referees this year. That summarises where we are at.

As an ex-Ref, and someone who has feet in both camp on AIF day, i thought Barry was outstanding on Saturday, Anthony less so

Barry is the worst ref i have seen over the last few years. He is disgracefully bad tbh.

definitely do not agree with you, there are a whole lot worse than him

Could not give a hoot if HQ have maintenance costs.

The rules of the qualifiers are clearly stated - Kildare are to have home advantage. Less than 24hrs from being given home advantage GAA turn around and try to take it away from them! There are no specified minimum number of fans that have to attend games so they should be allowed to play at home.

I don't like the idea that 4 out of the 8 teams in the draw get the advantage of playing a game at Croke Park. If Croke Park wanted the extra money then they should have thought about this beforehand.

The local communities in Cavan and Kildare will be losing out from the game moving.

Fair play to Kildare for sticking to their guns. It's doesnt sound like Kildare are going to back peddle in this and rightly so.

Good Post!

Ten Armagh U20s suspended for their Ulster Final meeting with Derry on June 24th

Free the Armagh 10.

They will appeal and most, but not all, will get off

Firstly I wasn't at the match, I spoke to the missus' uncle who is a lifelong "never miss a match Tyronie", even he said Tyrone were at fault for the row, said they need to take a look at themselves.
but he did also say they should have won the match twice over

How important is it to get the tropical vaccinations? It sounds mad expensive here in Dublin. Can your GP give them to you any cheaper?
Is Malaria more of a problem up North than down South or everywhere?

I think we'll just stay in Bangkok 2 nights, then 5 days in Chiang Mai and then just fly to Krabi for the 4 or 5 days with maybe a day trip to Ko Muk. Presume ferries out to it or day trips from Krabi?

I saw this? Any other advice? Its 16 years since I was there last in Samui and Pha ngang
http://thewanderlustkitchen.com/39-things-need-know-traveling-thailand/

Any suggestions of what to do up North?

North Dublin, defo need vaccinations I'd say

here lad, leave it out, you're more likely to catch something in West Belfast, especially down around the Bog:)

If you have a car allowance and looking to get a decent deal on a, lets say on a 1.6 type car, with a decent extras, where is the best place to look? I'm not a petrol head so for me any new car is nice, loved the Ford Focus i had for 3 years, might even go back to that type, but interested in something different

See my post above.  Kia Optima 1.7 diesel. Lots of extras.

/Jim.

Just went through a few of them on Hurst (though I'd imagine they are robbing bstards), £215 per month and £215 deposit, through the PCH, which is what I'm looking but 5,000 miles is the deal with 9p cover for over those miles. I'd need max 10,000 miles I'd imagine..

Lovely looking car and as you say plenty of nice extras on them

Along the lines of FB grabbing information and passing it on to others, what do people make of this? Is this an intrusion, or a way for police agencies to get others to do their work for them, or is it the future? Should this sort of information, ie DNA, be permanently private and safe especially as its not being used for the purposes originally intended for it?

Was there for this, great to see, great to see the whole stand give a standing ovation, great also to see the Kerry team and management clap too. Not too many people can say the great Mikey Sheehy have clapped them on to a pitch.

Big pressure now on Ulster Rugby. Acquitted after about 4 hours. They are in a tough spot, if indeed, the word is true they are gone no matter what.

how come? any proof?

Any proof of what?

proof they are gone? or is this a rumour?
