Quote from: LC on October 09, 2024, 05:59:25 PMThere is some serious vermin in our society, it is a pity that there is not a big hole to just throw them all into.  The world would be a better place without them:

Could've done without reading those to be fair...scum of the earth

Some get a rough deal as to their genetic ''Guardians''.

The word Guardian has no meaning to these people.

Quote from: Cavan19 on October 09, 2024, 02:40:38 PMWill they though ? It's teams thrown together basically playing challenge games. Wait till the likes of McGuinness and O'Connor get a winter to prepare for the changes and then we will see what will work or won't work.

That's the thing this will be tippy-tappy football with no intensity, no real structure of play, no structure of defending or attacking. Just a bunch of decent footballers having the craic.

A piece of shit is a piece of Shit.
Only well meaning rational people would expect anything else.
But he is not in the category.
He has free reign to do and say what he wants.
And he will do what he wants with no repercussions.
The only hold back is the world economic dependency on oil in the region.
Iranian attacks on Iraqi oil fields controlled by the US or a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, would cause caos.
A third of the world's liquefied natural gas and almost a quarter of total global oil consumption passes through the strait, making it a highly important strategic location for international trade

We are alright here in Mayo. Brolly blood has genetically infiltrated the Mayo DNA. There will be winners from down Knockmore way from now on.

All joking aside, it's good to see our Amateur game analysed by amateur journalism. It at least keeps things consistent.

Quote from: Truthsayer on October 08, 2024, 12:29:00 PMDef in Derry City's hands though at times you'd think them or Shels don't want to win it, the way they drop points.
With Derry home to Shels last game.. the double is very much on.

I don't know - Derry have to play an on fire St. Pats, A north-west derby with Sligo, Bohs and Shels. None of those will be easy.

Quote from: imtommygunn on October 08, 2024, 11:37:17 AMShelbourne Derry City last game of season too.

If Shelbourne are still in it. They just can't pick up any points at the moment.
The loss of Will Jarvis who they loan from Hull being called by to his parent club seems to have been a huge loss.

Not sure if there is a thread already. If there is - apologies.

To my shame, I have never got into LOI properly. Not until this year.
The young lad begged me to go to a few Sligo Rovers games and I'm hooked.
Anyway, what a season the League is having this year.

Any one of 4 teams can win the League.

RTE and Virgin have got on board with quality coverage.

But you still need a product and the product is good.

Quote from: Sportacus on October 06, 2024, 08:02:14 PMI was impressed with Ronan Hale today. He looked a much better striker than Idah who owns a squad jersey at the moment.

Norwich did well to get 9.9m for Idah.

I've 46 years of watching Gaelic games. Most players I never seen play as only highlights of Provincial finals, and full games of Semi-finals and Finals were on the TV. In the 70's 80's and early 90's I could not tell you how good Westmeath were. Who were their good players. I doubt I even knew what colour Jerseys they wore. My first 9 years (1978-1986) of watching Football were spent watching Kerry in the main hammering teams.

Not a fan of these lists stuff. People always talk about how more fit todays players are today, but their opponents are fit also. Just like less fitter players in the past played against less fit opponents in the past. So you have a level playing field so to speak in every era.

There is always a romance when looking back, time plays tricks with the memory.

No CiarĂ¡n McDonald. Probably overseen as he never won a Senior Intercounty All Ireland.

Clifford has been in the public eye at 16 in the Kerry Minor team in 2016. He has been a shooting the lights out consistently for 9 years at inter-county minor and senior.
