Wullie the protesting protestant!
« on: October 12, 2015, 03:58:41 PM »
LOYALIST victims campaigner Willie Frazer has said he is considering organising a protest at Belfast International Airport over what he claims is its lack of "Northern Ireland" branded souvenirs.

The Armagh man said the airport had become filled with "a sea of green leprechauns and pro-Irish paraphernalia", in reference to tourist merchandise which carries the Ireland logo.

In a social media posting, Mr Frazer hit out at the north's main airport, asking "where's your Northern Ireland merchandise?"

Alongside a photograph of shirts branded 'Ireland' in a souvenir shop at the airport, Mr Frazer said he was "seriously considering" organising a protest.

"Selling Irish goods and souvenirs is one thing but when every last vestige of Northern Ireland's place within the UK is totally obliterated by a sea of green leprechauns and pro-Irish paraphernalia - well that's ... a hate crime against NI British citizens," he claimed.

In a further post prior to the Northern Ireland vs Greece game on Thursday night, Mr Frazer wrote: "Belfast International Airport, we exist and we dare to dream so catch yourselves on. Get Northern Ireland and Ulster stuff on your shelves."

How many protestant protesters do you think he could muster for this cause of his????

I think he could muster six, the son, the dog and a few of his inbred cousins/siblings.

This is marvellous stuff. Aldergrove is a dour enough kip as it is, a bit of craic from Wullie and friends would liven things up significantly.

Absolute madman.  The next thing he'll be calling for the removal of GSTQ and the Union Jack to attract more Catholics to Windsor Park  ::)

One would have to assume the shop owner goes with what sells and that the NI stuff has been previously tried but found to have low demand. The problem wullie needs to understand is that the NI brand is not nearly strong enough and is actually dwarfed around the world by the Irish brand and plonkers like Wullie only exacerbate this.

Ned Flanders had a shop for lefties. It didn't work out for poor old Ned as there weren't enough lefties. Wullie should not be wanting anyone to follow Ned's business model!

Back in the day I read a similar complaint on the old OWC site.  It got closed up before I got to ask what would be non-hateful, Northern Irish paraphernalia.  Obviously selling NI tops would be one thing but do they sell actual sportswear at airports?

So instead of:

a green geansaí with shamrocks you could have:  red, white and blue tops with red hands?
Overpriced Guinness merchanise: Overpriced Harland and Wolff work gear?
Leprechauns: What's the NI equivalent?  Plastic orangemen?
Galtee Breakfast packs: Ulster Fry packs?

Hate to be a pedant, but the Leftorium did work out for Flanders after Homer told everyone about it and it turned out there was massive demand.

I think he should be encouraged to make it a lifelong campaign. We should market Wilie as a Leprechaun equivalent, a mythical fairy from a by-gone era, when people were stupid enough to believe any nonsense thrown their way.
