If you're hitting the player late and he's planted on one leg kicking that's a dangerous tackle, knee ligaments and potentially leg breaker.

Make it a red, take it out of the game. Players have had careers ended with tackles like this, not always overly malicious but definitely wreckless and dangerous.

Good game today, some effort from Trillick despite missing someone of Mattie Donnelly's quality, much to be admired.  I'm not sure Scotstown have the mobility to beat Glen (FYI MR2 see what I said earlier about runners).  I thought the ref was good today also, good job you weren't stuck in the middle today MR2.

Let me break it down for you...... A team of runners (they are almost all mobile, can run, pacey) with average football ability (they are not all natural or good footballers).

The evidence to date would back that up, as would the excuses wheeled out to date on here .....

Kicking so many wides, missing "easy" scores, those are what sets good players apart.  Look at the distribution of their scores from play..... There are a lot of players on that team not able to kick scores at this level.... and lots of them are lining out as forwards. And yet everyone makes excuses over and over again for them..... As if it's a given that it's about to happen.

We're told about this extra gear that they have (someone else's words, not mine) that they didn't use against 14 man Cargin and I presume that they didn't use yesterday again, yet..... They beat 14 men for 2/3 of a game by 4 and almost got dumped out last night.

I assume he lives on the Tyrone side of that parish. I wouldn't be surprised if he grew up supporting them.

Think you need to gave a word with your 'stats man' S H Cargin did score three points from play, not a lot but  Glen managed just  one more...2 from J Doherty, one each from corner back Michael Ward and Ciaran Mc Faula.

Oso, I appreciate your frustrations are very raw but you are presenting an entirely one-sided view of the game. Don't take that personally btw, we're all guilty of it and it's human nature to focus solely on what went against you.

I follow all Antrim teams in Ulster.  But the referring and the agenda today just wasn't good enough.

Then it's odd. Some things went against Cargin today but no doubt Glen have a lock of things they could point to as well.
I mean, you point out that Cargin missed a couple of scoreable frees in the first half but don't mention that Glen missed a bagful of scoreable chances in the same period.
The sending off of Tomas was unfortunate. My view on it was through a screen and I have seen the different replays. While those aren't great and render it somewhat inconclusive, it's definitely understandable how the ref could have viewed it as a raised elbow to the face. Whether that is 100% accurate or not, it's not a ridiculous decision.

We aren't talking about the same thing. You're referring to Glen player's taking on shots under pressure from areas they might not normally shoot from and about guys taking on the shots who aren't the reliable shooters.  I call that smart defence on cargin's part.

Cargin scored twice from play. Shivers had 2 frees that he should have nailed. Glen left another 5 easy scores from very kickable positions in the first half alone. It was a 4 point hammering.
Cargin just didn't show enough ambition going forward to win any of the two games. It was all about containment

I was at the game and it happened right in front of us. McCann lifted his elbow into an unnatural position and caught Mcguckin on the jaw/cheek. Straight red all day long.

Dunloy are formidable opposition, but I'd be optimistic that PG1 can make the final. No point in taking any other viewpoint Lar. Some great matches in store.

Dunloy have had their big win against a quickly fading LD. They'll not repeat it against PG1, not a hope in hell. PG1 with a comfortable win.

Depends on your outlook...from an inner circle perspective, it was very bad timing (as they wanted to announce his return) however, from a wider brand Derry outlook. It was a timely intervention.
However, don't rule out Derry trying again to bring RG back in a few months, irrespective of Dermot McPeake's statement to the Irish News.

Aye 'cos Kilcoo (population < 2,000) and Glen (population <10,000) are two obvious behemoths that are dominating their poor wee competitors who have no hope of ever competing against parishes and clubs of that size. 

Its not a parallel with Dublin (having approximately 20% of the island's population).
