Syferus, you generally make a lot of good posts. However I feel you need to have lived in the north before making comments like you did earlier.
Growing up in the 70s & 80s, Catholics were 2nd Class citizens. That has now changed and whether we like it or not, it was people like Martin McGuiness that dragged us to where we are today.
70s and 80s!  Stop rewriting the situation to suit your viewpoint

theres always one, or two

Saturday night there, I was at a hooley when a few people from work walked in including one of the managers, about an hour later I see him groping the breasts of one of the girls in full view of the rest of the staff, he was working on the outside of the clothes. I was rightly on and anyway I told him to stop, he feckin kept going and I walked out.
I am meeting him in an hour to talk to him about it, he has no idea this conversation is going to take place but that was my latest what the fcuk moment.

I am supposed to sack him on the spot, this girl reports to him and everybody seen me there at the time and they even have video of it on their cellphones. If I say nothing and it gets out I will be sacked as well, the hoor has put in me in a bad spot. >:(

If he has so much as an inkling, I bet his stomach is in knots!
Jesus I wouldnt envy either of you, but you certainly dont let yourself get the sack for someone elses mistakes.

What the Fcuk...

I have the aul Irish mentally drilled into me and that is  to say nothing. The only reason I am contemplating saying anything is that the staff have the whole thing on video with me telling the stupid fcuker to quit it. I dont know if I can take a chance and say nothing but if I dont he loses his livelyhood. I also have an obligation to my family and I am completely torn. Feck his stomach being in knots, mine are as well and I never get nervous about anything except Armagh matches.  :-[

You need to get her involved as well and see what she thought of the whole situation. Document everything and report to your superior as he/she needs to be involved also. You need to follow your company guideline on sexual harassment if they have one if they don't they need one. If you do not handle it correctly you will lose all respect from the other other employees. Tough situation.

Did the lady in question ask him to stop?

That leaves only Donny Osmond from the early 70s teenage heart throbs left, with David Cassidy and Michael Jackson gone.

You would be more of a Gary glitter and Jimmy Saville fan though

Ok I'll work on my comedy act.

Seriously double standards here.

Have a chat with your therapist first. He might adjust your medication levels and allow you back on the ward without the restraints

Should a newspaper be covering news? Have you been drinking before noon Seafoid?

Shouldn't that be " before breakfast"

People who post pictures of their babies every week and adding #1weekold, #2weeksold etc.

Latest was #5weeksold.

I know they're excited, but really..

Just be lucky they are not posting photos of the nappies.

I don't vote for any party, I have no interest in lining the pockets of clowns, no party represent my views, you have to laugh at these clowns, do they really think a unified Ireland is possible without a population displacement?
Maybe you could be displaced to Rockall....

I second this motion.

All in favour raise your right hand

My view on things is to let the Scots have Antrim and Down then do a population swap, Catholics in east move west and Protestants in west move east, if that was done 300 years ago then there would have been no Troubles. There will never be a unified Irish people any other way, I just know that as a fact, any man with sense would see that.

And while they're swapping houses you could throw in a bit of wife swapping too, just as a sweetener and to spice things up.

Do you live in the East or the West Orior?  You could be moved to Fermanagh and get Arlene Foster!

Corrrrr!!

Ciarrai, when you say you've never been asked for evidence, what do you mean? In our club, our childrens officer coordinates the vetting, and renewals.

I mean that I've been asked to fill and send off the vetting form 10 times maybe in last few years but there's been zero follow up..by the club, schools or underage county squads!

As to Avondhu Star's post - I'd have to agree the vetting as it currently stands doesn't say much - which is why I was alluding to a possible overhaul of the system. You don't want to get paranoid or too PC about these things but we genuinely are too casual about people involved with kids at times in this country..

That's not been my experience. In fact this year we had to tell a coach he couldn't help out with us because he never got the vetting done. Our childrens officer would have your heart broken chasing up on stuff like that.

I have never been asked for it in a county squad right enough.

That is down to having a concientious Child Protection Officer How many clubs will do that?
If County Boards refused to allow a club play matches until the Club could certify that all managers, coaches etc were vetted you might see some improvement.

Of course Child Protection should go beyond the sexual abuse issue. How many coaches etc exceed the speed limit when driving kids to games, carry more kids than they have seatbelts for etc. Admittedly this often happens because some parents use clubs as babysitting service

Given your history of puerile posts, there is little point explaining this to you Milltown, but I'll try.

If the UK put up a border, it will have to be manned by UK customs and British soldiers. Dissident republicans don't have much support not because of their ideology, but because they don't have a popular target. Put a border in manned by British forces and that changes.

If Brexit has the expected economic effect, especially along the border, there are going to be a lot of people disenchanted with a peace process which has left them still going through checkpoints and searched, NI still part of UK and further away from a UI than ever, and economically disenfranchised. Dissident republicanism gets a massive shot in the arm and popular support, attacks on the border increase, support increases in traditional republican areas in the cities again, army back on streets.

Why do you think the British are so keen to avoid a hard border? Their Brexit campaign was built on taking back control of borders, yet here they are saying they don't want one in Ireland?? The DUP certainly wouldn't complain too much (behind closed doors). The British can see the dangers. You're not able to see beyond the end of your nose (well done on being the only person to live through the Troubles by the way), so I don't expect you to be able to grasp this, but I do find it amusing that, when I pulled you about your Brexit view on another thread, you waited til I posted again so you could go after me. What a sad little man  ;D

Most of this would sum up my views too. Hard border= very bad for peace process.

The most worrying thing about this is that i genuinely do not believe the dup are interested in peace so a hard border would make little odds to them.

The D.U.P. are interested in peace but only on their terms. Maybe they should fast forward from 1968. I never fell for that Iain Paisley Chuckle Brothers shite. They took a long time to come to the table and only conceded what they knew the suckers on the other side would settle for in their desperation to get their hands on power.

Only stupid fans will think Martin's whole time as manager of the ROI team will be remembered for putting on subs at halftime of a playoff for the World Cup with that squad!
Stupid fans and remembering his whole tenure aside. Do you think bringing McGeady on was a good managerial decision? In my book it was absolutely shocking and brings into question what he offers us from here.

McGeady on was a horrible gamble. We needed 2 goals but when was the last time (ever?) MCGeady created or scored a goal for us? He is talented but looks like he doesnt know what he is doing and couldnt cross his legs never mind beat the 1st man. Tbh i didnt even know he was still on the squad when he was brought on.

Id have had Long on from the start....he hasnt been scoring but always puts a shift in and has been proven to do it in big games...couldnt believe be only got 10 mins

Look theres no doubt we got lucky in so many games throughout the campaign but what other manager can or could do better with the talent (or lack of) we have? We do not play any football...which is amazing as the Danes are nlt world beaters....they have many mediocre players but only 1 star. I think we were gutless not to have the balls to try and keep the ball and play football...real bravery is getting on and keeping the ball
No it's not...real bravery is getting a kids cuddly toy from the lions cage.

I would call that stupidity myself

Ah Ffs I didn't mean them in any malicious way.I meant them the way Denis Law intended when he spoke at George Best's funeral, during the service in the presence of the family, when he said and I quote "I am surprised Bestie turned up today!" Like me , he wasn't mocking a death either.

The mock outrage of the usual subjects here is hypocritical.Plenty of celebrity deaths on this Board have been greeted with absolute and genuine  glee,Margaret Thatcher for example.

so you knew and played with Jana then and know she would appreciate the "humour". Sad sad git

and Thatcher was a in charge of a murder machine not a tennis player just so you know the difference

And she stood up to a murder machine

What makes intelligent people do this?

Arrogance. They actually believe that they are too intelligent to be caught by mere police. How many people have been caught after using their own credit cards and computer to buy child pornography? They ignore the fact that police forces, intelligence agencies etc actually cooperate with each other. So its either arrogance or else their brain is in the hanging muscle
