In light of his passing I thought he deserved a thread.

Gave us some of the best days supporting Laois footballers. From a beating by Meath in O'Moore Park in 2002 to Leinster winners in 2003. 3 Leinster finals in a row and arguably could have won 3 in a row. The run through the qualifiers in 2006 and the win against Tyrone in the rain.

More ups than downs.

Thanks Micko.

High Fielder

Brought something we never had before or since. Brought us to places we only dreamed of. His contribution to Laois and the GAA in general should never be forgotten. A legend of the game

The Boy Wonder

The great Micko left us such fond memories in Laois.

Looking back.....

May he rest in peace.

My father is a Meath man so he use to take me to some of the Meath games in late 80s and early 90s when Meath were regularly challenging for Leinster and All Ireland titles. They were great games and days out and I often thought would Laois have days like these. Apart from occasional big wins laois could never really challenge for the big titles, in comes Micko and he took us to the promised land. It may not have been the AlI Ireland but it was fantastic, a treasure trove of memories. Also we played some great attacking football (if memory serves me all our scores were from play in the Leinster final against Kildare I think)

Running down from the upper Hogan Stand on Leinster final day to get onto the pitch and share the absolute joy of Laois winning silverware was a day I will cherish forever.

Thank you Micko.

Totally agree with all the above, I have been following Laois footballers since 1975 and always dreamt about a big day out and got one at the 1985/86 league final when we beat Monaghan by one point.

In comes Micko in 2002 and in 2003 we won the Leinster Championship final beating our neighbours and former team of Micko's Kildare. That was a day for all Laois gals and I'll be forever grateful to Micko for giving us that day.
RIP great man and thank you......
