I see poor Enoch lost his defamation case against the Sindo. That'll cost his some money to pay their legal fees and his own, plus all the fines he accrued for refusing to heed the courts direction. He might be as well to stay in jail.

One of the most shocking things about this election was the vote for Maria Walsh. Got elected of the back of winning the rose of tralee. Hasn't been heard off since. One of lowest attendance records as an MEP and has missed 106/106 agriculture committee meetings. Yet she is recognisable, has a nice face on a poster so people vote for her. Bizarre stuff and maybe it shows the real lack of interest people have in the European parliament

In my post after the initial "sick fucks" post, I clarified it wasn't referring to parents. Didn't stop you referring to it again Miltown. No matter, today Israel was executing civilians trying to head home. Evil beyond words (sorry if that's ott)

There are around 950 Council seats in total.
Another of the cnuts ejected from a Count Centre for allegedly assaulting some people.
Sadly Europe in general moving towards extreme right.
Last time that happened Europe had WW2, 40 million deaths, millions displaced, half the Continent destroyed.......
Obviously all the voters who lived through that now dead and the human race displays its inate stupidity once again.

Boomers are losing it, right-thinking is a coming youth movement. Hard luck!

Ever think WHY Europe is moving to a right-thinking alternative? No idea? Everything happens for a reason, pal.

You tell us.

Most of the people who lived through ww2 are dead and there are a lot of very stupid ignorant people around, he'll bent on reliving that period again. Like this clown

The rest got 950.

A stunning victory for burdy and the yank ::)

10-15 % was a stunning victory

I think some of the sages on here were predicting < 5%

Then factor in Aontu who are far right on immigration (by the standards of this board) and you're up into the 20s

Thank you for your kind words

Aontu aren't far right lad. But sure if you think right = far right you might as well claim victory fir FF and FG too. Sure if you think about it far right got 60% of the vote.

I'm not denying SF had a very bad election btw

Quote from: Itchy on June 11, 2024, 08:03:00 AMYes based on polls at the time. But I was wrong about that and no issue admitting it. I was not wrong however at there being little support for far right parties when they should be at the height of their vote, especially when you look at gains the far right are making in mainland Europe.

"Little support"? According to one figure I saw, anti mass-immigration candidates got 15% in the Dublin euros. I don't know what it is for the other constituencies, but Derek Blighe did surprisingly well in South, and there's the IFP, too. What did SF get?!

Why should right-thinking parties be at their height? The mainstream media and major political parties refused to talk about mass-immigration for a long time. Sinn Fein KEPT insisting "it's all about housing". Hah! Sinn Fein are pure dishonest on the issue, and it's been their undoing. Good.

The right-thinking movement in this country is only getting going. The various parties and individuals are still jockeying for position. At the moment, there's too many little factions and big egos. One will emerge from the crowd.

In other European countries, the right parties are well established. Countries such as France and The Netherlands, Germany, too, have been subject to forced diversity for longer than we have, and people are starting to see it's one-way street.

When your finished talking shite, let me know how many councillors far right parties got. Sinn Fein with a poor showing are at 100. Then let me know how many MEPs far right got in Ireland. The people rejected completely your bullshit racism and instead went for the status quo of FF and FG. That's is the facts of it.

LOL

You were arguing black and blue with me a couple of weeks ago about how well SF we're going to do both locally and in the European elections. I'd sit this one out if I were you

Yes based on polls at the time. But I was wrong about that and no issue admitting it. I was not wrong however at there being little support for far right parties when they should be at the height of their vote, especially when you look at gains the far right are making in mainland Europe.

Carthy would be my choice (if I was a SF member and had a vote).
Time the Party grew up and the local election results might just be the catalyst to get them to do so.

Bigger picture - was good to see over 100 candidates who were immigrants or from an immigrant background.
Possibly 40 elected.
The Whiteys abd Burdys of this forum won't be happy🤣

Oh, I am happy - SO happy! The National Party got a lad elected in Dublin. Brilliant!

As for the immigrants elected... You know political parties are paid to put these 'diversity' candidates up? And you know political parties bussed asylum seekers to polling stations and told them who not to vote for? Bizarre! I was once discussing with a girl - why do governments want to bring in all these immigrants? Do they want consumers, or what? No, I was told, they want voters. Turns out she was right!! Mind boggling. It won't end well.

Why is a political party doing buses to the polls so bizarre? This goes on everywhere and tbh is a good service for one's who can't get otherwise.

Sorry there's no way he was talking to a girl.

The amount of anger you have going on isn't healthy.

Aul boy used to say, if you've nothing nice to say, say nothing

What a crazy statement to come out with when talking about 210 Palestinian's killed. He's not talking about a game of football here. 210 people killed and you come out with this tripe.

He's calling the families of those hostages sick fucks for celebrating their release.. you can highlight as many numbers dead because of that release that doesn't change his post.

You're one of those people, no matter how stupid the post, even when you know it was stupid and even when others point it out to you - you are just too much of a thick ass to admit you were wrong.

Look you cannot dress this up, this has been very poor for Sinn Fein. A few points

1- This is a local election and is it says on the tin, it's local. People will vote for their local rep regardless of party. FF and FG especially have an advantage here in places SF are just going into as the encombant is difficult to shift. A GE I'm sure will have a different look to it

2- There is a small number of people out there (2-3%) that is anti foreigner, racist, anti government. Those people likely saw SF as their best bet in the past but now they have actual racists to vote for so that vote is lost to SF. It's a vote they could do without anyway.

3- FG and FF usurped the opposition by cutting Ukraine refugee payments and looking like it was them and not the opposition that got tough on refugees. Pretty mad.

4- Big issues like our dire housing and health issues seems to have been parked. Also pretty mad.

That's my reading of it

The death toll from an Israeli military operation which freed four hostages from the central Gaza Strip on Saturday has risen to 274, with 698 injured.
Sixty-four of the dead were children and 57 were women, the Hamas-run Gaza government media office said yesterday.

I suppose when you see Palestinians as rats then the only to thing to do here is break out the champagne and celebrate.

How many civilians died in the rescue? Do you think it was worth it and should be celebrated? 2 questions for you there.

I wasn't discussing it, I'm talking about the head space you must be at based on your posts

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur

Relieved that four hostages have been released. It should not have come at the expense of at least 200 Palestinians, including children, killed and over 400 injured by Israel and allegedly foreign soldiers, while perfidiously hiding in an aid truck.
This is "humanitarian camouflage" at another level.

Israel has used hostages to legitimise killing, injuring, maiming, starving and traumatising Palestinians in Gaza. And while intensifying violence against Palestinians in the rest of the occupied territory and Israel.

Israel could have freed all hostages, alive and intact, 8 months ago when the first ceasfire and hostage exchange was put on the table. Yet, Israel refused in order to continue to destroy Gaza and the Palestinians as a people.

This is genocidal intent turned into action. Crystal clear.

Now of course I was referring in general to people celebrating this great rescue as sick fucks, not the families of hostages. But you know Miltown, your dad was right if you've nothing positive to say, say nothing at all. It's a pity he didn't teach you about irony.
