Fantastic to win that.

Very brave substitutions by Klopp, and wouldn't have won without them. Even if it all goes to shit for the remainder of the season, we have a trophy in the bag for his final season.

Kelleher, Van Dijk, Konate and Endo were superb. And everyone else worked their ballix off. Win, lose or draw, they are a great group of players to support.

Yep. Even without our best 3 strikers, it's still a decent team. But nothing on the bench. Even one of Mo or Darwin being on the bench would have given me good hope for the win, but it's a big ask now.

Quote from: Derryman forever on February 25, 2024, 01:04:42 PMWhile I agree with much of SeaFoids post above.
Kerry were very poor yesterday. They had no shape in Defence at all in the first half. Dublin were let do as they pleased.
2nd half they got some shape and Dubin took a while to adjust.
You wont see too many games where the Cliffords are as poor as they were yesterday.
Which begs the question are they too reliant on David Clifford kicking 9 point or more?

Seafoid's posf is a load of nonsense.

The GAA somehow weaponised Dublin by helping fund development officers teaching PE to primary school children  FFS. Not a single cent of development funds goes to the senior team or even to Dublin development squads.

Over the last two decades Kildare and Dublin have been broadly evenly matched at minor and U20/21 level. The fact there's been a huge gulf when the very same players get into the senior team is nothing to do with development funds.

What kind of debt are you left with after, say, a 4 year degree?

My lads in Uni in Dublin, it's a straight €3k per year, all other fees covered by the taxpayer (and temporarily reduced to 2k for the last two years). Albeit rent would be on top of that. If you have to repeat a year or change course than you would have one year at full price (which would depend on the course).

For some low brow offensive comedy, Ted is good fun. The bear character not dissimilar to Danny De Vito's character in Only Sunny in Philadelphia! I thought the film Ted was awful when I first saw it, but re-watching it as a sitcom (ie not expecting any story line and waiting for the oneliners) was a better experience.

Kenny was on €520,000 but they have upped the salary to €700,000 for the new man. But apparently  still well below championship salaries, albeit surely far less work.

Looks like they are doing their best to secure Carsley and the sticking point is the salaries of his staff. Rumour that if they can't get him, they'll stick in John O'Shea as temp manager with Anthony Barry taking over in the summer when he's finished with Bayern and Portugal.

Brehme scored that penalty with his right foot, after scoring a free kick with his left in the semi v England.

The only player in World Cup history to score in penalty shootouts with both right foot and left foot. He said his left foot had more power and his right foot was more accurate

Quote from: clarshack on February 18, 2024, 03:24:34 PMShocking that no Tyrone player would take responsibility and shoot for an equaliser.
Looking at it again, it seems they were waiting for Morgan to come up to take it on!
In fairness, it's probably difficult for players to know exactly where they were on the 4 mins added time

Quote from: Hound on February 18, 2024, 03:25:50 PMWhy was Sean Kelly's point not allowed at the end?

Too many Tyrone lads turned down the chance to kick a point at the end. Can't expect the ref to allow play to keep going. Played an extra 45 seconds and the only stoppage that time could be added on for was a substitution

Think he hand passed it into the net?
Oh, I thought it went over. That explains it!  Cheers

Liel Abada could leave on loan as the Israel winger "does not feel quite right or ready" to play for Celtic.

Roscommon black card - correct call
Tyrone red card - incorrect call
Roscommon square ball - incorrect call

Both teams very good at pretending to be injured when there was nothing wrong with them.

Well done Monaghan.

Surprised at the strength of the Dublin team and the workrate and desire shown for a league game in January. Performance wasn't up to a whole heap, but we're in good shape overall.

I think Keano was more talking about being a number 2.

Haven't verified it, but I've seen it said a few times that Lennon's record in Europe with Celtic is better than Rodgers and Ange. So that's a positive for him.

Carsley would be a bit of a leap into the unknown, which hasn't really worked before with Staunton, Kerr, Kenny. But still I think I'd go with him.
