GAA Discussion / Re: Murder of a GAA Chairman

I watched some of it last night but after seeing Mrs. Brown talking about going up to the pitch with a torch at 2.30am and the peelers coming to the house I didnt have the stomach for the rest of it as I knew it would be another wretched story of the senseless murder of a good man. It's right up there with the most senseless of all of the killings by puppets on strings that reached all the way to Whitehall. I'll give it another go at some stage.

Is he really that bad an appointment compared to ETH? The number of shots that United concede is absolutely shocking and this mainly due to the gaps between defence, midfield and up front so easy to play through. Southgate would  have them a more stable outfit and has got big performances from Rashford in the past.  Could be possibly get a tune out of Sancho?

so has Ten Hag, so what!
The relationship with ETH and Rashford is clearly fractured and I doubt he will regain any type of form with him at the helm.  Southgate is certainly a better option than ETH at this stage.

Played through by a championship team at the weekend but sure just stick with him hes doing a great job.

I enjoyed the commentator's question on Sunday in Utd Cov game re Rashford and the Euros, wondering 'Will the real Marcus Rashford please stand up'... That is the real Rashford, as windy and watery a modern footballer as you're ever likely to see

Rashford is Pogba-lite.

Quote from: Blackandblue2 on April 22, 2024, 10:37:57 AMSo whats the chances this weekend? Anyone giving us a punchers chance?

I see the game isn't being televised? On BBc or Rte?
Has this every happened for a Ulster semi final before, why would all games including prelim be on and not the Semi final?

Is it expected to be 1 sided and not worth the viewing?

GAAGO are showing it
Where would you pick up the game in Belfast City Centre?
Nancy Mulligan's, Castle Street will have it.
Thanks!

Is that place not a total dive ?
Can't be worse than the hill in clones with the buckfast brigade.
I'm out of the country at weekend so I will miss the game. But after last year's experience of clones I'd question whether I'd go anyway.

Quote from: general_lee on Today at 12:33:23 PMLooking back, it's really disturbing the things that went on. The LVF weren't active (militarily) for long but were able to engage almost seamlessly in a sectarian campaign against the Catholic population. Its two senior leaders conveniently topped, one of whom was a suspect in Sean Brown's murder. It's almost as if the LVF were allowed to exist until they outlived their usefulness.

Yeah,  sounds like it

Quote from: Tones on Today at 02:38:10 PMMy friends aunt was up from the South, needed to see a doctor, paid £75 quid to see one in a private clinic in Armagh ran by an ex Tyrones missus, the doctor she saw is the doctor I would see if I ever got an appointment!
That Doctor is in all likelihood taking those shifts because his or her practice can not give them any more shifts. Not the fault of the GP but the system.
I dont think so. Went part time (or just left) NHS to go into the private sector.
GP Practices have a limited number of sessions, even if they decided to go part time it would not impact on the number of appointments available at your practice. Most Doctors who leave HSC GP work do so because they can no longer put up with the insane work load.
Insane workload? 9-6 with a few hrs off for paperwork and calls in my local surgery. As you have said the GPs have limited availability which hasn't changed despite the massive uptick in need so how is their workload insane? The biggest complaint the seem to have is that they were being taxed too highly on their pension fund.

Quote from: Tones on Today at 06:20:15 PMYeah f**k you jack I am OK.

You're putting the blame at the GPs door for taking on a legal practice activity? What moral obligation do they have to get f**ked by a broken system?

Successive Prime Ministers, Health Ministers drove the place into the ground. Some moral obligation to be the last violinist on the Titanic.
