for years penalties were always expected to be scored, so often that it always came down to the last penalty, normally your best penalty taker is left to the end, these days so many defenders are taking penalties that's it barely comes down to the 5th kick, your best penalty taker need be in around no.3 i think, there no pressure on the first ones as the pressure bigger nearer the end, as for the game Ronaldo played quite good, don't like him as he plays up his free kicks to much and no variations from free to bring in other -players but i thought he was one of the better players on view the nite, at least Portugal pressed them in a way i always though most teams should do against a fancy passing team and fairly rattled them too, Spain edges it though but i don't think they beat Germany if they get through, cant win a game without  a out and out goal scorer, i play torres in the final

yeah good goal that one, but i dont think its the one, this keeper came straight down the middle beating about 6/7 men, it was unreal at the time, in saying that, thats some goal the keeper scored in the 1st clip

thats the one, remember it years ago,!! now can you find me the goalkeeper who run the field one night past 7 or 8 players and scored a goal, it was in south america and on a question of sport many years ago on what happened next, still reckon it was one of the greatest goals ever scored, havent even seen a replay of it since

Pirlo penalty best one i seen in years, remember many years ago someone scoring like this for poland or Czechoslovakia back in the 70`s, pure class. though thing about it, a Joe blogs of the street would have saved it as he wouldn't have moved lol

just in the door, what you say??
that was f**king brutal, am gona call a spade a spade, the worst i seen in many years, taking in the tyrone hammering round 2004 too, thoguh the league form all year was a sign of things to come!!
strangest team line out i ever seen! Barry McGoldrick at Fullback? actually done ok but he never played there before, why not try him there though the league?? Young McCamley at wing forward, hes a defensive midfielder, though he drop back but didnt the whole game, what was the point playing him up front when he doesnt play there! E Lynn played the whole league at corner forward then wing forward the day, they are totally different positions, play him in the corner or nothing! The lack of fight from the team team was shocking, reminded me of ireland against spain the other night!! give up long before the final whistle and playing with injured players. At least 5 of the derry players are only back from long term injuries and shouldnt have started, the excuse for lack of fitness of some of the others, well the fitness trainer will have to answer for that, the team have been off the pace in the league all year too, Donegal made the same mistake with Murphy too who was well of the pace too,Chrissy McKaigue had a good game , may been the only one but derrys game plan or lack of one was a shocker!! very disappointed as a die hard supporter who misses very few games but that game would nearly break the most die hard of supporters, no player goes out to play bad, but you need effort, fight, pride in the jersey, not just to wear one but the fact that you should be good enough to wear one and nobody taking it off you!! People talk about begging certain players back, why?? if anybody wanted to play for derry they be on the panel, why should a county team beg players to play for them!! Today is def one of derry footballs darkest days!! But derry will need to find a way forward, last year derry played good open football, and this year we expected the same with a more defensive performance!!they went so far back from last year, its hard to put  a point on why this has happened! Hell not gona think about it any more, time for a drink, think i deserve one after getting soaked watching that!! but alias i know i be there the next day as am sure many else will be!! will we get another 300 spartans for the next day like the armagh game a few years ago

humanity, soccer supporters are a cruel bunch especially Irish ones but that's f**k all to you see the papers in the morning, they are worst that's the British papers!! they be tearings trips of people, likely blame the manager when the reality is that's it a miracle he got them there in the first place

p45 for the games of thrones man methinks!!!

i see we at page 2 of this thread and armagh tyrone on page 35, sign of the expensive internet and lack of reception in donegal lol, plus us derry lads have no support though an odd critical supporter on here, tyrone and armagh must picked up alot support with their all ireland wins or the internet deals alot cheaper round mid ulster!! think we manage page 4 for saturday lads!!!

theres not real thing like going man to man Gaelic football style in soccer, zonal marking and parking the bus 20m out seem to be the thinking the pick the man up as he comes into the danger area! personally a great player like maradona was tramped on from start to finish and there was never a player more than a couple of yards from him no matter how far down the field he was!!we probably needed to do that type of man to man on xavi and Inesita, still would have been beat but at least maybe they couldn't walked through the middle so easy!1 it is a poor Irish team but we all knew that!! Manager got the best out of which we have, we got no more Keanes, McGrath, Towsend, whelan, houghton, o`leary, Bonner, Steve staut, denis erwin, etc, we got to accept that and know that a defensive system will get you so far but cant take you the distance!!!

should been booting like f**k from the word go, go out on your shield and not with a wimper, had this been a rugby game the first 10mins be the getting to know u stage, not please walk all over me, show abit of balls, spain are by a country mile a better team but let them know u there, they need to man up abit the bus is parked 20m out from goal and spain is just passing round and through them!!no player ireland left at home would do them any good here, its just time to get stuck in!!big jack had the right idea, put them under pressure and use a route one with big striker to bring the best out u players, wasnt pretty but effective!! the current crop are fairly limited but we know that already, it just pisses me of listening to an rte panel that says we should play more football when the players are not there to do it!!!, be lucky to c out 3-0nil here!! wish we push up  abit!!
