Shots taken or successful shots taken?

Big difference.

I know, I reposting this article being used on another thread to bash Kerry football, stats can prove or twist anything.

In the Mayonews one of the regional papers in Mayo, they use these kind of states in little a little interesting facts section, it is not condidered worthwhile for the main articles, its sad the national media thinks stats worthy as stand alone articles. Its one thing us useing it here on a forum, but paid journalists should be capable of more.

stats are very important if read right. any stat that tells you mayo can kick points needs to be treated with extreme caution  ;) mayo would have many all irelands over the years if they could kick points.

on a serious note roscommon came from no where to win the connacht final on the back of one mr shine, meath have gone so far on the back of cian ward. its sad that one accurate forward can change a teams fortunes but thats amateur gaelic football for you (and before anyone starts looking at the aussie ability to kick a round ball vs ours 2 years ago). no wonder kerry with so many good forwards have dominated gf for the last 10 years

And ye wonder why attendances are falling at GAA games??  Ye nordies will probably get a few days talking about this Final but to me it was the greatest load of tripe I have ever watched.

and your point? sh1te football all over the country lately. try watching the british open today and youll get more tripe

if louis and casey drop a few shots early it could be interesting. dont think it will happen tho

both dublin and armagh were poor yesterday but dublin now get the chance to improve and no doubt they will. these games are all about surviving as kerry showed last year.  if armagh had scored those two 45s yesterday it could have been a different story.

all messing aside it would be nice to see some gaa stars present programmes on the telly and radio. if george hook can become a celeb presenter when he can barely finish a sentence anyone can

3747 was announced @ ht in celtic pk. While price and I got in as a student

thats a poor crowd considering one team was going out and both fancied their chances of a decent run in the championship

Was at Tullamore tonight, terraces 20 euro stand 25 euro.
Who regulates these prices for qualifier games. Is there not a set price that the gaa set out at start of season or do each county board make up their own prices, if so im not surprised Tullamore is such a nice ground by the admissionprices.
It really left a bad taste being charged so much in to a qualifier to watch a game played by amateur footballers.
I have been at premier league games and paid less.
No wonder crowds are so poor this year.
Admission prices are turning more people away than the fact that so many games are now on tv.

snoopdog, what would consider a fair price? e10? e15? i certainly take your point, esp in todays environment - i paid e20 into the munster final and i thought it was good value considering the price of a pint these days

Aye is right.  As well TV might be affecting attendances at the matches but it is definitely exposing the GAA "brand" to a wider audience than just those present.

Today, I wouldn't have bothered to go to any games anyway but I'm rewarding for sitting on me arse all day by being able to watch Derry - Kildare, Dubs - Armagh and the hurling.... feck me the Hurling better be good because it has to make up for some desperate shite so far

the hurling certainly saved the day!

94 pages - some going. i was sick for louth, they were robbed of the leinster championship and there was never going to be any fixing of it. would i have done what sheridan did? absolutely. if i was from louth and i was standing near the ref at the end of it i wouldnt rule out decking him either. it would have been wrong but in the heat of the moment mad things happen that are later regretted.

for the many posters who said it wouldnt happen kerry/dublin etc, heres heartbreak and cheating (doyle was pushed) all in a few minutes on what would have been kerrys only 5 in a row

Yer a sad Kerry man.

no such thing

wakey wakey muppet, last week was a leinster final with a back door for the losers, the 82 game was kerry going for their 5TH ALL IRELAND IN A ROW. no comparison
