Mr Taylor doing some serious backtracking on Twitter. A ridiculous thing to say in fairness, his excuse is pretty lame too.

Is this thread about who can be the most righteous on one hand and most insulting on the other? Who’s winning because some of you lads are giving Fearon a fair old run for his money.

A couple of lads who follow Tony around should look at their own posts around the forum..

No reason why Celtic cannot kick on and progress in the Europe well into the Spring. There have been good performances lost by lack of concentration and naive defending

They could get a run depending on the draw. There is some decent teams currently involved in the Europa League,  Lazio, Bilbao, Arsenal, Lyon.
Borussia Dortmund will be involved too in the new year, and maybe Napoli.

The standard better then last season.

As opposed to Roma, Bilbao, Spurs, Lyon last year plus Schalke, Celta Vigo, Fiorentina, Ajax...

The standard will be pretty much the same I’d say. It is a competition where progress is possible though as different teams will give it different priority depending on their needs.

Brought that on themselves.. Still long odds on to win group and only a 5-0 reverse at home to Moscow combined with Basel winning in Benfica would stop United qualifying.

BT reckon it’d take a seven goal defeat for United not to go through..

I saw elsewhere that they only take a case if a leads to a goal or a peno, don’t know if that’s true though.

Niasse, unlucky or not?

Unlucky for me, at normal speed it looks a pen and I'm not sure super slow motion does players justice in these situations as it can be hard to see exact contact point. I thought there was enough doubt in it for them not to ban him.

Although something has to be done about diving its a bit strange that something that would only get a yellow card at the time becomes a two match ban after the event?

He's not soft centred  ;)

He's also five foot seven and a midfielder.

Just because he's black doesn't mean you're getting Kante #2. More creative player than that.

Thanks Syferus - I've never seen him play before

It's not that he's useless defending - from all I've heard he's an all-rounder but he could be as much a Courtiniho replacement as a Henderson-type replacement depending on how he's used.

In other words you’re as much in the dark as everyone else  ;D

No, he is mainly used as an attacking midfielder at RBL, which you can see very clearly in his goals and assist stats.

The reason there could be any doubt is because Liverpool is so woeful at the back that Klopp may be tempted to play him deeper in a less natural position.

I remember you trying to pull the same tone when I told you Kolasinac from the same league was a great buy - you’ve been quiet enough on that while he’s became one of the best full backs in the EPL.

The bit in bold suggests to me you are passing internet gained knowledge off as your own. Fair play to you if you watch enough German  football to know better and I apologise if so.. I vaguely remember a conversation before, didn't realise it was with you, I'd say the point I was trying to make was that in general us football fans talk shite and sometimes players that we know little about gain almost mythical qualities.

On Kolasinic, I have to say I've not noticed whether he's any good or not, he is in my fantasy team though and has been good for a few points.

United have a big enough squad and players coming back from injury to put out a strong team regardless of maybe wanting to rest a couple. I wouldn't mind seeing McTominey and Axel get a bit of game time.

I can see Young & Valenica being rested but thats about it although Matic has played a lot for United I think he stayed in Manchester during the international break, I'm sure he'll be rested for the next round of the league cup and the final CL game.

Other than them nobody else needs to be rested, Rashford & Martial don't complete the 90 mins too often.

Young, Valencia and Mata haven't travelled I've just read along with Bailly, Jones and Carrick who are injured..

There is a semblance of a point to Tony’s argument here.. His jokes are shite almost all the time pathetic even but were they said about different people or even by someone other than Tony they’d pass by almost unnoticed.

There a fair bit of playing the man not the ball going on..
