Eric Dier is the grandson of the former FA secretary, Ted Croker.

Ted Croker is the only Croker anybody will care about on the afternoon of Sunday July 15th.

Nevertheless, credit to the GAA for putting on a rematch of the 1966 All-Ireland football final at the exact same time as the 2018 World Cup final.

A very good omen, and lovely British Islesian solidarity.

I presume they'll be showing the World Cup final on the big screens as the Galway-Kerry game takes place?

It's perfectly possible to be British and Irish simultaneously.

Examples of this include Mick McCarthy, B&I Line ferries, and the British and Irish Lions.

England were marginally better and deserved to win. if Colombia had focused a bit more on the football they might have beaten England. Some of their antics were disgraceful. One of their staff shouldering Sterling on the way off at half time. What was that about?  Colombia are where they deserve to be, on the plane home.

That penalty shootout could release a lot of pressure off them. Wouldn't be surprised to see them play well against Sweden.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Some of the responses below it from our ones are embarrassing. Imagine if someone said they were proud to be Irish after a republic win and our irishness was deemed illegitimate.
Nolan is also obviously dipping his fishing rod in the water in the hope people will bite. Stop falling for it and just ignore him.

Of course and now he and his ilk are pointing that exact example out.

Actually there are some positives from Old Blighty's continued if ultimately futile involvement. Tesco has some very good offers on beer, crisps, bbq meat and pizzas so it's not all bad.
Careful now

If he was truly British he would join his fellow Brits in Scotland and Wales in hoping than England lose.

The world cup needs some kind of more robust seeding because this year the final will totally be devalued with a very weak team in it. One of england, sweden, croatia or russia will make the final. On the other side of the draw there are 4 very strong teams all of whom would be worthy fianlists. It would've been great to see a final of Brazil/belgium v Uruguay/France.
England in this tournament have reached the qf and the only teams they have beaten are tunisia and panama. I can see their game v sweden going to pens but if they come through that they will most likely be beaten by croatia who are technically far superior.
