Never had a problem woth hurson previously, but his performance this evening particularly in the 2nd half was an absolute disgrace.

If conor glass wakes up on Sunday morning without a serious injury then he is a very lucky boy.
A referee that blatantly allows players to get away with repeated assaults has no place in our games, he should be ashamed of his "officiating"

Whats the story with tickets?

Only terrace available, no stand tickets?

I know that it comes as a shock to Derry people, but sometimes a lot of people go to games and the stand is full.
not really any need for the snide comment

The tickets only went on sale today (as far as i know) and there wasnt the option for stand tickets. I would imagine its too tight a turnaround to issue them via clubs so was just wondering where theyd gone to. Hopefully someone with a bit more manners knows

Tickets for the stand are being allocated through clubs. Terrace tickets are all through our old friend Tickermaster.
wasnt aware at all, didnt see any mention of it on the club socials. Thanks

Sorry, my bad.
It was the Louth game. Squad named on 1st Feb, game was on the 5th, Tohill left the panel on the 8th.
He was fit and available but Gallagher chose to leave him at home.
Roughly translated, surplus to requirements but I'm not going to tell you directly.
Left with no choice.

Not sure of the details or goings on, but tohill was 100% on the bench in ardee. I was standing about 10 feet away from him

Seriously tight / small pitch today, never really clicked for us, found it hard to break lines. Glad to get the 2 points, Louth made it a real battle which will stand to both teams. The 2 week break will help the Glen men.
CD and McGrogan really drove the team on from half back. Grimes for Louth is a serious footballer.

Even tighter when they took they sidelines in!

Poor performance, but its the type of game derry would have lost not so long ago.

Found it very hard to break through as you say, missed mckinless in particular in that regard. Ethan would be the other 1 you would look to for the same, he looks to be running on empty, Gallagher has got alot right so far, but he really should have given the glen lads a break

Referee was very poor, was night and day how derry and louth got there frees.

Still not sold on this idea of bringing the keeper up, lynchy looks very comfortable with it and it any event doesnt really push far enough up to become an option for a pass most times, its a halfway house and is of no benefit.
Any other keeper if have seen doing it pushes up alot further

One aspect I remember about the 98-01 Galway team (who beat Derry twice) is that they were consistently underrated.
All Kildare had to do was turn up. Meath beat  Kerry so they were unbackable. This was all groupthink.
A lot of people think Connacht football is all the same and follows the Mayo template. This is wrong.
Tyrone never won back to back but Roscommon did. No team in Ulster ever won 3 in a row. Galway did.

Galway footballers have 2 modes. Ridiculous and sublime. They know how to win in the latter mode. They are better than the hurlers.
It's the culture.

I always thought that about Galway too. They can be absolutely class.
That 98-01 team had some fine footballers...though Joyce always particularly annoyed me as he could steal 10 yards on every free he kicked but never got pulled on it. Or maybe that's sour grapes :)
They were a good team to watch.

In saying all of that, I always felt Derry left both those AI's behind them.

No complaints in 98 at all, we had a horror show that day

2001 is the worst ive ever felt leaving a match, blew an all ireland that day.

The joyce yard stealing thing was very evident that day, Michael Collins wasnt interested. Full back (fahey?) was all over muldoon every time a high ball came in and got away with it every time.

I remember a couple of things about that game, all small things but helped turn the tide, McNally going off injured and paul mcflynn going to half back. Half forward line lost all shape.

Seem to remember Johnny niblock took a free too short and galway got a point out of it. Then Gilligan dropped one short and they went up the field for Matthew clancys goal.

Derek savage gave sean marty a very tough afternoon

Jesus that game still haunts me

Has anyone in history actually sat all the way through a triple header?

6-7 hrs on your arse in a plastic seat ain't much fun.

i did in 2007, derry v cork in the minors (Quarter final?) and derry v dublin in the senior QF.... Think the other game was a nicky rackard game, possibly rosscommon/armagh... Was a long day alright

Is this new system of buying tickets through Ticketmaster going to be in place for the AI final? This first come first served basis is fine when its not a sell out but I imagine that some genuine GAA people will miss out on tickets and that bandwagon supporters and touts will benefit. Hopefully they will distribute tickets through the participating counties when it gets to AI final day.

Think this was just in place for the quarter-finals. Back to clubs again for semi-finals and final. Don't know what the idea with TM is and if it is just a way the GAA can say we opened the gate to everyone without them having to do much. Sit back let TM do the heavy lifting and get the cash from them.

I see someone else mentioned about tickets disturbed through the clubs but I don't know of any clubs around here who are getting any allocation of tickets. They all had notices out that tickets would be disturbed through TM only.

TM is a f**k up in terms of the seat allocation. I don't know anyone with tickets with concessions who got anywhere near the centre sections. And have heard of people who couldn't get concessions for juvenile tickets and had to buy full-price tickets for kids but others were able to buy discounted tickets later in the day for the same section. I think a bit more clarity on how the TM tickets are allocated would be welcome.

With regards to price, I think those on Sunday have gotten better value for their money as they are likely to see 2 competitive games. Only one chance of that on the Sat (and it isn't the 2nd game!!)

I bought 4 adults and 1 child together in section 308, was online in the queue at 10am on Tuesday

Big shout out to the minors, their mentors and everyone else involved after this evenings semi final win. Going to be a big day in Clones next Sunday for the county. Some decent football on display in Armagh today and apart from the 10 minute spell when reduced to 14, saw the opponents off relatively comfortably. Tyrone only able to beat a Donegal team that we beat well on a sudden death penalty shootout.
Any statisticians know the last time we contested both the Minor and Senior Ulster finals in the same year? Was it 93 by any chance?
excellent result for the minors, quite comfortable for the most of the game

Minors and seniors were both in the 2000 ulster final.
Seniors lost to armagh, minors beat Tyrone

Next weeks ulster finals have the same pairings as 1993. Tyrone won the minors that day

Delighted to be in the semi final because I didnt expect it.

Very hard to know where derry are actually at after the last game as others have said derry were very good but tyrone were awful

I am very wary of expecting too much from any derry team. We have consistently fallen flat and failed to back up 1 big perfomance with another, here's hoping that finally changes on sunday

I think monaghan will push up on our kick out so dont see as much handy possession this time round.

Could be a tight low scoring game, a goal will be a big factor for whoever gets it

Hopefully Goughs previous issue with McGuigan is not a factor come sunday, although I suspect it will.

Heart says derry by 2, head says monaghan by 3.
Might stick a fiver on the draw!

My feelings exactly.
I've learnt over the years to never expect too much with Derry.
I don't think Gallagher will let them get carried away with themselves but you just never know what will happen on the day.

Hard to know what the matchups will be. Mckaigue def a man marker. Monaghan have a couple or 3 forwards who would need man marked.

Aye i would hope Gallagher had them focused again quickly, but we wont know until tomorrow.

If goal chances do present themsleves we need to be far more ruthless, that is a weak point so far.

I think mckaigue will go on mccarron and rodgers on McManus but could just as easily be other way round.

Is paudie tad fit? Would be a massive plus if he was
