Had the misfortune of watchng bits of it over the last few weeks and its pure cringe, like a long goodbye for Tubridy. I'd imagine next week will be unbearable. He was good at doing the toyshow but overall not a natural interviewer. Kielty has the likeability factor but it remains to be seen how he gets on in a programme that definitely needs a change in format. And its also long past the point where they get the unavailability of RTE in the north issue sorted out.

He'll have 6 months of how shit it is and how he doesn't get it because he's a Nordy or doesn't live in Dublin or some shite but I've no doubt he'll bring a freshness to it and move it on to where it should be!

Kelty won't be the problem. The format of quantity over quality isn't sustainable.

Milltown Row2

He does radio 5 live on a Sunday morning, it was a bit uncomfortable at the start but it's improving but the late late is different gravy
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Undoubtedly nordies are just so superior to the southern neanderthals, there is no doubt that Patrick will succeed with his LLS appointment, however in the small possibility that he doesn't, that will surely be down to the pervasive stench of southern 'neanderthalism'.  Should the free staters  be patient and give him space and time,  no doubt  Patrick will drag the retrograde free staters  into a new universal understanding of the Island's potential, which naturally recognizes nordies (of all shapes and sizes) as the exalted ones.

not living in Ireland is a huge mistake and should have been prerequisite for getting the gig

you do not and cannot know what is going on in a country where you do not reside permanently

this is not a nordie dig either as he seems decent enough (not angry enough after years living in england  ;))

Yeah you have  a point

All the stuff  happening in the  south , politically especially, you'd have to be  following day to day. TLLS  regularly deals with political  matters and politicians  so you'd need  to keep up to date .  That's hard enough to do even  if you lived  in the north ,  never mind London

Unless the  new TLLS  format veers away from  all things political  , as well as the dreary depressing stuff.  And I  hope they do . It's an entertainment show after all.  .  If you want to talk about  politics,  illnesses,  refugees, drugs or basically the state of the  country,  do it in  some other show

He probably has a mobile phone and zoom and a research team.

It's not the same as the ould lads in Kilburn ringing home on Sunday evening for the county championship results.

That's not what I was trying to say. The Late Late is stale and needs a freshness to it I think we can all agree on that.

He'll face a backlash for not being from or living in the South though let's be honest. It's already started FFS!
