Quote from: Ed Ricketts on November 23, 2023, 12:30:52 AMYes, insane to suggest that Roy Keane was anything other than a highly skilled footballer. You don't spend a decade in the engine room of one of Europe's top clubs without outstanding technical ability.

Perhaps the poster means flair rather than skill.

Skill is a necessity, flair is a luxury.

I thought I was clear that I meant the type of footwork that is very unusual in an Irish footballer save for Best or Brady. Giles was a brilliant footballer, so was Keane, so was Whelan, so was McGrath. But had any of them the type of skills of a Dragan Stojković. That was more than flair. Doesn't seem to come naturally to Irish players. Keane didn't have that level of class nor Giles, Whelan, etc. Of course, had other great qualities.

Be careful of those youtube highlights reels. Lee trundle has a load of them. You watch them and think he is better than Messi yet spent most of his career in the lower leagues

Lennon would be even worse than Kenny FFS. Did we all just forget the absolute shambles when he took over from Brendan at Celtic. Anyone else on that list would be a massive improvement on Kenny who quite clearly was out of his depth after about 2 games yet some 3 yrs later is somehow still here.

He was a TUV councillor. Interesting that the northern Ireland amalgamation of supporters club dude is so worried about having to go to Andersons town but obviously has no problem for others having to go to Windsor park which is nicely located in a loyalist heartland

Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on November 08, 2023, 08:52:21 PMCasement is likely to get there in the end too but it doesn't mean it wasn't a clusterfcuk of a project.

There is a question over size etc for Casement that does not exist in Armagh. The Athletic Grounds was substantially full on several occasions in the last year and the stand is essentially full on numerous occasions.
Sorry, there is nothing wrong with the stadium but as you said, the redevelopment went on for an eternity.
Páirc Uí Chaoimh is a great facility but the project was a mess.

Pairc UI chaoimh main stand is impressive. Still to this day don't understand why they knocked down the old end terraces to replace them with almost identical structures ffs. Such a wasted opportunity

Quote from: trailer on November 08, 2023, 10:02:50 PMEtH doesn't appear to know what he's doing. Strange decisions.

A lot of the players not good enough. 3-2 ahead should be holding on for at least a draw. How poor was the defending especially from Maguire.

3-2up why did wan bissaka fucing fire a bullet volley back pass to onana to give away a corner leading to the equaliser. Just one example of the pure dung and dumb defending

This discussion has been going round in circles for years. Clones getting the funding keeps coming up for some reason as if that was ever likely. In fairness it would be worth it just to see the DUP outrage and general losing their shit. It would be on an epic proportion if GB money was going to a foreign land ;D

When fury trains and is in the mood he is unstoppable but his form can be all over the place. He struggled big time against that wallin bloke not too long ago. The disappointing thing is there was about 5 top heavy weights over the last few years but the lot of them seem to be past their peak with hardly any fights between them

Nothing worse than being a bad winner. NZ deserved to win but win graciously and move on don't be dicks about it.

Ach sure it was great craic when O'Mahoney was calling Cane a "shit McCaw" but don't say a word to offend our lads...

That was during the game as I mentioned above so completely different. Sure look at the Scotland v Ireland match, they were having a right rumble and at the final whistle it was all forgotten about
