The argument by Peter Shirlow is that a Unity referendum is not on the cards because the Nationalist vote is the same now as in 1998. This is bullshit, and embarrassing for him.
In Westminster in 1998 Unionists held
-West Tyrone
-Fermanagh and South Tyrone
-North Belfast
-South Belfast
-Lagan Valley
It is possible that they could win back Lagan Valley some day,  but the first four seats will never again be held by a Unionist for as long as Northern Ireland exists.
The world has changed,  Unionists don't have the numbers.  The time for Unity is NOW.

It looks like NI Sports minister Gordon Lyons is set for the Armagh Derry match in the Athletic Grounds on Saturday night.  He has effectively been shamed into this. If he really had any interest in attending a GAA match it would have happened before now.  If he insists on not taking his seat until after the National Anthem should he just be told to f**k off back home??

Ah Jesus, would yez ever quit with the 1 Million Unionists  ::) It's not 1922 !!
At the 2024 General Election in the North, approximately 330,000 people voted for Unionists.

The RTÉ sports department are continuing with it's long standing policy of pretending Northern proboxers dont exist.  Not a word on IBF World champion Anthony Cacace beating Josh Warrington.

Moygashel in Co Tyrone was described by The Irish News yesterday as a place synonymous with Race Hate and Sectarian intolerance. Imagine if that is what your home village is known for?
The Irish News are correct by the way.

Some very senior members of the Stormont government believe that a 90 year old man went to the North Pole, captured two Polar Bears and walked them the whole way back to Turkey.

The game changer will be when the Irish Government decides this needs to happen.  The SF setback in the South this year is a major blow in this regard.  FF/FG can just continue to ignore it all, especially if they win the upcoming election and there are no more Northern elections until 2027.

There are none so blind as those that cannot see!  The evidence of demographic change is overwhelming.  It is clear to see in every facet of life here, not least in the election results if people can read them properly and stop swallowing the rhetoric of the loyal media.

Example 1.  Lagan Valley.  According to the 2021 Census, this constituency is 24% catholic.  A minority, but a big enough minority to get behind a good Alliance candidate and help her win.  Alliance got 38%, SDLP 2%, SF, PBP and Aontú did not stand.  Therefore the line from Befast Telegraph/BBC/Fine Gael is that only 2% of the voters here support Irish Unity.  Of course this is nonsense.

Example 2.  Seats.  It has been reported and requoted above on this page that the Nationalist vote is broadly the same as 1997!.  In 1997 Unionists won West Tyrone, Fermanagh South Tyrone, North Belfast, South Belfast and Lagan Valley.  The first four of those will never be won by a unionist again as long as the state exists.

Example 3.  Belfast.  The capital of Northern Ireland has an increasingly dwindling Unionist population.  3 of the 4 Westminster seats are held by Nationalists.  In last years Belfast City Council elections, only 29% voted for Unionist parties.

Last year in the 2022 Northern Ireland Local Elections, Nationalists outpolled Unionists for the first time ever in the 100 year history of the Northern state.  My prediction for this election is that this will happen again next week.  The demographic tide cannot be turned and Unionists will never ever win another election again, including the Unity Referendum.

1974 General Election, Unionists 61.9% - Nationalists 30.2%

1998 Assembly Election, Unionists 50.7% - Nationalists 39.6%

2019 General Election, Unionists 43.2% - Nationalists 40.1%

2022 Assembly Election, Unionists 42.3% - Nationalists 40.5%

2023 Local Election, Unionists 40.1% - Nationalists 43.9%

2024 General Election ?????????

Whats the story with tickets.  Only average tickets on general release from the very start.  Even shittier now.  Will Ticketmaster then release the good sections once they've got rid of the bad ones?
