How did we end up with such a dislikeable manager. The supporters of Laois GAA are not giving out about the players. The genuine supporters know they are giving their best.

All the criticism is of him. He has not got the personality to be a manager, he resources to bully boy tactics whe ever he is under pressure.

Surely it was only giving a run out for the reserves and none of the first team played?

That's all true Hesh. Graiguecullen have failed to perform the last number of years when the pressure came on. Doing an interview like that last week would only take the players minds off the game.

Don't know Kevin personally but he sure could do with a few basic tips on management after doing an interview like that this week.

I wouldn't know him either but I think picking one little throwaway phrase in a long interview and using it as the headline didn't reflect the interview as a whole.

A lot of this "pin it on the dressing room wall" stuff is a bit overrated but teams are always looking some edge to hang on to. I know Courtwood didn't like being written off by virtually everyone but it's easy be wise after the event. Our form had been pretty poor up until yesterday to be fair.

Sounds like you know more than the rest of us. We're only looking for transparency here. These teams play tomorrow after all. The dithering will surely allow any guilty parties to play, which shouldn't happen. Or maybe that's the plan. Who knows. We have an anaemic local media so somebody has to question what the f**k is going on here. Might as well be us as anyone, but I welcome your contribution and am happy to debate the point. The whole thing stinks. Standard fare for this county unfortunately

And for what it's worth, I will never be reasonable where I perceive an injustice, an inconsistency or blatant disregard for fair play. I may be wrong but will happily admit to be if good evidence disproves my point. We haven't seen any evidence yet, but in previous similar situations, we knew everything. Remember too that a lot of us were there and know what we saw. No need to mention names

I agree with high fielder that those responsible should be punished but when do the County Board ever publish suspension in the media? The secretary of the clubs involved are notified of the proposed suspensions and they have 48 hours to appeal.

The only time suspensions are published to other clubs and individuals is in the minutes of County Board meetings ever month where the clubs delegates attend. All minutes or County Board meetings are circulated to Club secretary and delegates in advance.

If Graigue decide to field 3 adult teams next year, what grade will they play at?

I have to admit that I agree with the above comments. Regardless of what team Graiguecullen are throwing out at Junior C level, it's not right. There's no reason why they shouldn't have scrapped the Junior C team and used some of those players, along with members of their proper Junior A team, and had a good run at the Junior A championship, a competition they haven't been far off from winning the last few years.

There's lads on Graiguecullen's Senior side who will be sitting on the bench tomorrow and not see any game time. What are they to do for the rest of the summer? Sit on the bench for the rest of the summer, or maybe decide to drop down and win an easy Junior C title?

You'd need to assess the runners from deep and how they were not dealt with, they seemed to cause the damage in creating the goal chances.

To be fair to John he picked Laois up at its lowest point, and lifted us back to division 2.

I'm not entirely sure if we can play Kingston and O'Carroll together, might be mad but they didn't compliment each other in the league final!! I do feel Kingston can produce more game changing moments than Evan.

Sunday for me was a bit worrying when looking at John's support team, to see a man on the line with Laois wearing an ear piece, communicating with management in the form of Brian Breen, this is of pure shock and horror. This is a man who was unable to get decisions right in the middle of the pitch when refereeing. To now see him in communication with our seniors, makes for apprehensive viewing 🙊

Attack the water boy. You should be ashamed of yourself. I would imagine Brian Breen has no act or part in picking or training the team. He is just their to be a help to the management in the huge work load that is involved in running a county team. What has the quality of his refereeing got to do with anything? They are a lot of bad referees out but I am sure they have other strengths.

Darren Strong has opted out of the panel it seems.

Pushed out with no return button from what I've heard.

Yes I heard the same. A number of players were cut from the panel over the last few days and he was one of them. Surprised that the management didn't wait till after the O'Bryne Cup to cut the panel.

It just the way our county board work and oh we happen to have a Portlaoise chairman this year. I wonder on what grounds did he get off?

I think the rules should be the same for everyone. Either way Portlaoise shouldn't need the services of him to much in the final. The first round of the Leinster looks like it could be a major game for them.

Ha ha. That's the first time I have heard a punch (with closed fist) to the side of the head called shaking off an opponent.
I wasnt like it was a rash decision by Maurice Deegan, he took plenty of time to make his decision. It looked like he was trying his best not to get him sent off. He went to 2 umpires and 2 linesmen over it. It's not wonder our county is struggling for referees.

I hear Portlaoise/Bruno are appealing the sending off tonight. I presume our county board will do as they normally do and let the player off.
He did f**k all wrong, he's dead right to appeal

I forgot striking a player in the back of the head was allowed in Laois 🙈 but it's Bruno so let him play. Nothing to see here lads
Merely a shaking off of his opponent who had fouled him. Lads need to toughen up a wee bit.

Going on our county boards previous history, he is certain to get off. I think county players or former county players in Laois have something like a 90% chance of getting off on appeal.

Not all. I just think these Gaels teams have ruined Laois football. The likes of Mountmellick would rather get a few players to make up there teams instead of working with there own club players. Pure laziness really.

I feel sorry for The Rock this morning. I detest what that crowd you played are doing. They take such a short term view on everything. God only know who they will have playing with them next year if they don't win the intermediate this year.
The way they have jumped in and out of bed with teams underage over the last number of years has been terrible.
