Kerry really stepped it up 2nd half outscoring Galway 0-13 to 0-5. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but a 4 point lead at half time wasn't enough for Galway to win that final.

So you think in hindsight they decide to score more in 1st half?

Galway had more than enough chances to lead by more at half time.

Kerry lads have won a few "handy" frees.
Handy is a feckin understatement!

Well dives I believe is the technical term.

Thought Hurson was appalling, Kerry got soft free after soft free that 2nd half. It looked Cathal Sweeney was deliberately targeted from early on.  Galway should have been a lot further clear at half time, don't like naming names at that age but one player left a lot of scores behind him. Galway really struggled on kickouts the 2nd half from either end which was a surprise given how well they did the first half.

Well done to Kerry, before the game I was worried about the size and strength of them and those concerns came to fruition.

Its getting more difficult to judge minors, the age is lower and the teams are becoming taller, stronger and are better conditioned, give it a couple of years and many of these advantages will have disappeared for various reasons.  I can't remember much about the Kerry minor teams in 14 & 15 but the last 3 minor teams have been huge teams.

An amalgamation of Glenamaddy, Williamstown and Glinsk. A bit daft that Paul O'Shea didn't get on that team of the year.

An amalgamation of Glenamaddy, Williamstown and Glinsk. A bit daft that Paul O'Shea didn't get on that team of the year.

Cathal Sweeney as well is another bizarre omision. Arguably the two best minors this year and neither of them on the team of the year.

Raftery is usually listed as a Glenamaddy club man so not sure why he was down as Northern Gaels in the team of the year.

Syferus

The best Galway player I saw was Halloran. But the management's use of him at times seemed a bit bizarre.

Raftery is from the Glenamaddy club.
Listed as Northern Gaels I assume because Glenamaddy play their underage football under the Northern Gaels amalgamation.
Sweeney Gill & Raftery were the 3 most consistent players on that Galway team.
Played well in every game pretty much whereas Cooley, Halloran and a few others played well in some games and poorly in others.

Yes Sweeney was very good also and isn't he related to the late John Morley?
