It's a complete racket. I'm reluctant to ever actually claim off my insurance (touch wood, I've never had to in 20 years driving)

You're as well just lying to them to try and keep the premium down(car stored in garage, parked securely at work, only 3k miles a year). It's not like you won't get shafted anyway if you're honest and actually need to make a claim.

Quote from: marty34 on May 29, 2024, 09:16:31 PMThis is the type of candidate that SF are 'going after' now I think.  Moving away, to a certain extent, from the old guard. Pat is new blood, if you pardon the pun!

If she is successful, would she go down the route of Health Minister at some stage? She would have a better knowledge that most of this portfolio.

Maybe some long term planning here but needs to get elected first obviously.

Snapchat might know more?

Bet there are a few Sinn Fein members pissed off in FST tonight who have worked their @@@@@ off the past few years and hoping that maybe they would in with a shout of being selected .............
If people in grassroots politics are pissed off for not being personally rewarded then it's probably best they weren't selected.

Quote from: ranch on May 19, 2024, 10:23:19 PMBy all means have them playing league football. There should be a proper reserve championship to accommodate them however. As much as the CE lads would have enjoyed winning a junior championship last year, there was hardly a celebration out of them after they beat Ballyhegan.

As for this year, St Peter's seconds are doing well, only lost one game to league favourites Corrinshego early in the season. Come championship you'd imagine that Forkhill and Middletown would be the favourites if they're at full strength.
That St Peters team will be hard stopped. Yeah probably a tiered league competition for seconds and reserve teams would be best.
Think that's the reason the likes of St Peter's have scrapped reserves and went for Junior football instead. You might get one or two meaningful reserve games a year sandwiched between walkovers and cricket scores. I suppose with junior football you're almost certainly guaranteed the opposition won't cry off at the last minute with something to aim for (promotion & junior championship).

Quote from: Armagh18 on May 19, 2024, 12:21:47 PMDefinitely think they're a great thing, at the end of the day the more people getting football at their level the better. Not sure it's fair on the junior clubs though that they csn play championship.

If we look at the players as just players at that level and take away that they are part of a senior club, then they are just that, either junior level or intermediate.

From memory not too many seconds have won  junior or Intermediate.

In Armagh Cross & Killeavy have been the mainstays, big clubs so consistently have the numbers. Cross use their team more for development, Killeavy more for giving lads football (Cross yoyo between Junior & Intermediate)

Clann Éireann entered a junior team last year and won the Junior championship, St Peter's & Madden entered junior teams this year with St Peter's looking like another good outside bet for this years title (21 goals in 5 league games so far).
I'm sure some of the other junior clubs won't be too keen.

What's the thoughts here? Over the years senior clubs in Armagh have dabbled with entering a seconds team in the junior leagues/championship with varying success and they've started doing it again the past year or so. I can see the reasoning behind doing so (reserve football is a joke for anyone seeking meaningful football). Does it go on in any other counties? (I know Tyrone allow it) What's the feelings from proper Junior clubs?

Quote from: general_lee on May 13, 2024, 11:00:56 AMIf there's a silver-lining to yesterday's performance it's that Armagh put on an exhibition on why the attacking mark should be ditched. Such a stupid rule.

Odd take. I think the attacking mark works. I also don't know why you would get rid of it because 2 Armagh players didn't have a shot.
It's a terrible rule. Doesn't encourage high fielding or long kicking. It slows the game down whenever it's used. It's shite.

I semi expected ET & losing on penalties ahead of the match yesterday, just wish I'd have put money on it.

A lot of flak for McGeeney from some quarters, it's fine margins and had we got that little bit of luck yesterday (and last year) we could easily be having a different conversation today.

I don't know what else he could have done differently from the sideline other than team selection but that's a different conversation.

Don't take away from Donegal either, they're a f**king good team under Jim so this nonsense about Armagh being 4 points up with 10+ minutes remaining and not seeing it out is a disservice to them. They came at Armagh and reeled them in. I certainly didn't think it was a forgone conclusion at 15-11. Good teams do that, you don't need a psychologist to come and tell you that.

Had lads from Portglenone knock the door once. I remember I hadn't enough  cash on hand, your man said he'd pay the difference. This was before bringing card machines was a thing, it sticks out because it was a Saturday evening and I was waiting on a lift from a mate. I thought fair fucks for going round doors in another town in another county!

Quote from: general_lee on May 01, 2024, 10:54:20 AMSo we have already apportioned blame in the most recent fatalities to the deceased because of their age?  :o

The three prior fatal collisions have claimed 5 lives, all over the age of 30. The road in its current form is simply unfit for purpose.

No one is blaming age all the, but don't let that get in the way of your post. This reason for this accident is unknown, a single car accident involving teenagers. I don't know anyone that is against making this road safer.

But having suggestions in general about car safety and driving sensibly can also happen separately
Well the two proceeding posts both coincidentally referenced further speed restrictions on young drivers, that is not going to quell the fatality rate on the A5.

There is unfortunately a big lout element that follows Armagh, Lurgan is the biggest town in the county so proportionally has more louts. It is also geographically further for fans to travel to any other county ground in Ireland so the buckfast brigade get at least an extra half hour drinking time on the bus than anyone else. Thats not to say there are louts from every corner of the county, I've seen my fair share of hallions make fools of themselves and they're weren't Lurgan people.

Allegedly a TUV supporter, but that could be BS.

Although the same moron posts another video where he's approached by Ben Lowry who seems to know him going by the interaction.

That's a nyuck if ever I heard one. Doubt he's a TUV man.
