Ultra unionist Jim Allister voted for Brexit to take back control.

Then he complains that he is governed under rules imposed by a foreign state (the EU).

Then he is in Westminster voting on a law which only affects the people in England & Wales.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on December 03, 2024, 08:17:41 PMSome craic when the newtownabbey ones and Shankill ones got the Black taxis up the Falls to the Royal hospital..

"Next stop" everyone stares at them in the taxi..

Prods said next stop for Black hacks we just rapped the windy.

With a 50p when I used to get them from Castle street to Cavendish St.

I digress.

Anyone forced to do things like your Easter duty which I think entailed going to confession, visiting the graveyard and stations of the cross?

Was dragged to  confession and stations up until a certain age ,  then said feck that.

Don't believe I've been to confessions in  probably 30 years.  I don't think too many go nowadays do  they? Even the older folk

Graveyards, I would  visit  every few weeks, and on birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. I'm not religious now , but I  like to visit graves as I think it's important to  remember those  who went before ,  and all they did for us.

I go to the graveyards at night. Maybe 11/12 at night. Find it the most peaceful place you'll get. Extra nice on a nice frosty night. Something about the lights on the graves, the fact that usually there's no one else around, peace and no distractions. I'd recommend it.

Wife thinks I'm nuts tho.

Nurse! Nurse! lol

Considering how they treat women, I hope the Irish Cricket Team are not contemplating playing Afghanistan until that regime changes.

Quote from: Kidder81 on December 02, 2024, 11:11:03 AMThat this Gregg Wallace story is so big, seems like an absolute tit but top story on bbc website for two days and Downing Street approached for comment? F**k me

I like the humorous signs at protest marches such as a large sign saying "The people behind me can't see"

But one of the best was a few years ago at a protest in central London and the sign said "This is all terribly upsetting"

Seems appropriate now.

That sounds like  something I would have said.

There used to be a tradition that everytime you went past a chapel or church you blessed yourself. Does anyone still do it?

Quote from: Blowitupref on November 26, 2024, 04:03:45 PMThe world's oldest living man has died at the age of 112, 'surrounded by music and love' in his care home in Merseyside. John Tinniswood passed away on Monday in Southport, months after being named as the oldest man in the world.
Is it just me or does everyone who ends up with that record die not too long after? ;)

There is a definite pattern there, the police should investigate.

You're terrible Muriel.

The whole trial is a terrible light on a certain section of people. I bet you neither complainant or defendant played club football.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on November 22, 2024, 01:10:21 PMMy dogs are off the lease at the places where there are no cars really close by, they stay with me very closely to me and great recall, but they are cockapoos, not confrontational, though one of them thinks he's 10 foot tall and when a dog is in his face he'll react with a growl.

9/10 out of ten it will be the owners who are at blame, not knowing their dogs or understanding how their dogs react with other dogs is the main thing. My dogs used to bark at Alsatians purely out of fear, now they walk past with their heads down lol, they have adapted.

They have only ran off once when they reacted to a dog running at them, out of fear, they headed back to the carpark and sat at the car waiting on me..

Biggest bug bear are the cnuts that don't pick up their dogs shit, I'd love to rub their faces in it.

Cyclists on a shared path are the worst though, I've cycled the same path for 20 years and run it regularly enough, If I'm going down to it I know I'm meeting people in groups, dogs and toddlers, getting worked up because other people are sharing it is strange.

And then there are those who pick up their dog shit in a bag, and then tie the bag to a branch for everyone to see. Why?

Quote from: johnnycool on November 18, 2024, 08:19:46 AMI bet you'd get short odds on a Derry clean sweep of the Ulster Club championships now...

Gwan, put your money where your mouth is.

Quote from: mrdeeds on November 18, 2024, 03:42:04 PMI must be mad, because I was encouraged by so much of what I saw up to the penalty. Ireland had one stonewall penalty turned down and one debatable. But they were well organised up to that point and England barely had a shot.

Agreed. Looking better for the future and we're the in the division where we need to be.

Great to see another Irishman on next year's PGA tour.

Tom McKibbon kind of mirrored my own ambitions but he has executed slightly better.

I thought the three interviews after the match were good.

Interesting to hear that after full-time Brendan Rogers told his team mates that they had one minute to feel sorry for themselves and then they had to prepare for extra-time.

The posts by Musk are making me move from Twitter too.

I'm just worried about missing out on football scores on Bluesky.
