Quote from: Caesar on March 26, 2025, 09:29:15 AMPortglenone, Creggan, Lamh Dheargh and Aghagallon have all taken Cargin to extra-time in County Finals in recent years, and still Cargin have come out on top every single time. Quite incredible really!

They're to be admired really although that doesn't stop me wanting them to lose.

I've no dog in the race when it comes to men's football but they carry that aura like Man Utd in the 90s or Liverpool in the 80s where they just seem to continually get the job done which if you're not from Cargin probably makes you sick of them.

Fergie once said something about knocking Liverpool off their perch and until someone knocks Cargin off theirs they've earned the right to be favourites every time they step on a pitch (in Antrim). Not only are they very good footballers but they have granite self-belief to go with it.

Cargin still the team to beat. I think PG1 had a massive chance last year but beating Cargin isn't just about winning a football match, it's like mental warfare too with all their experience of winning these matches. The team that eventually beats them will need to have massive balls to put them away.

You can't really be cancelled from social media. It's whether you have the ability to ignore the abuse and not let it get to you.

I used to write for a Spanish football website and posted a video once about how Messi had failed to track a run in a match and the lad ended up scoring. next thing I have folk wishing cancer on my mother. The internet is a crazy place.

Should really be further into their recovery than they are. One of the main offenders in staying up via board rooms. Sometimes you need a step or two back before you can move forward.

Quote from: SaffronSports on March 24, 2025, 05:41:01 PMYou could half that and there would still be too many teams in Division 1. Realistically, you have Cargin who are on a level of their own. Then you have Portglenone, St Brigid's, Creggan maybe? The fact there are so few decent club sides absolutely impacts the county team but it's one of many, many issues.

Creggan maybe? Creggan, definitely. They had a shitshow of a year last year but will certainly be in the mix for the championship this year. Possibly moreso than some of those you mentioned before them.

Who is running Creggan this year? They are scoring heavily so far.

Still Joe Cassidy.

Quote from: Armaghtothebone on March 24, 2025, 05:01:35 PMShame on the Antrim players and shame on the GAA for backing down

By my reckoning that decision has cost the GAA in the region of £300,000 in lost revenue.( 10,000 people @ £30 a head).

Will be thinking about that the next time someone asks me to buy a ticket for a raffle or sponsor something.

Ye raging?

Disappointed but not surprised

I'm going to buy a ticket and not even go just to keep an Armagh one out.

Quote from: Last Man on March 24, 2025, 03:59:53 PMWhy not just delete X, you will be happier! Leave all the crazy Far Left and Right crazies to it. You are fuelling fringe views by lamenting about it. If our political leaders are worth their salt the centre ground will soon dominate the discourse and fringes become irrelevant again. At least thats the way its supposed to work. Any leadership material coming through the ranks?

The For You part of X is an absolute cesspit. I use it to create lists of some really good coaching accounts and I like it for that but often when I log in it defaults to the for you part and I see a couple of posts of nonsense before I go to my own part of the site.

Multiple schools across the 6 counties closed after receiving threats via email.

Proper weirdo behaviour that. Schools in Strabane, Enniskillen and Ballycastle affected.

I thought he by and large sat on the fence. Very mildly said there is an issue but wouldn't say he nailed his colours to the mast either.

TBF, the last news bulletin said counter-terrorism police are on the scene now so sounds like someone has been up to no good.

Quote from: Saffrongael on March 21, 2025, 11:44:27 AMI understand people are experience junkies now and I found it a bit strange that people go to live shows to listen to podcasters and journalists and the like now. I see that weapon Mark Goldbridge has a live show & is in Dublin among other places

What would a guy like Goldbridge talk about that you couldn't do with your mates?

"I remember watching a football match one day..."
