Quote from: Blowitupref on March 26, 2025, 09:10:54 PMResults one sided matches and one draw

Monaghan 1-10 Cavan 0-13
Tyrone 6-26 Fermanagh 0-6
Armagh 0-13 Derry 2-24
Antrim 0-2 Donegal 3-23

Not totally unusual in this competition. Even without 2 pointers Tyrone beat Monaghan by 27 points last year in the round robin, but only won by a point in the semi-final. Mind you, Antrim scored at least 3 last year.

Two different Monaghan teams though.

Have to admire the man for sticking it out. His beliefs are obviously extreme compared to the 2025 Irish norm, but surely there has to be something that should have been done to accommodate his issues with the situation that caused this.

Fair play to Antrim. Money shouldn't come into it.

Quote from: NotedObserver on March 23, 2025, 08:18:13 PMGood to see a few signs of things being worked on. When they could they got early ball into Darragh and McCurry. Big Kennedy a serious operator with conn improving. Some of the support players such as Daly, donaghy and mcgeary good. Not sure what people thoughts are but been impressed with Teague. First proper run at intercounty and doing okay

Peter Teague has been excellent. I'd dread to think how we would have faired out defensively without him and Rory Brennan returning
Pity Hampsey has been missing, they've more than compensated for his absence but if we had him as well in there our defence would look formidable
Interestingly no sign of Hampsey today. Seen 7 players do a separate training session before the game, meyler was one of them but he stepped away from the intensive drills (so still looks a long way off)
Could be wrong, but didn't see Hampsey anywhere today. So can only assume he will be missing for the Ulster championship then too

What's the date for Ulster championship?
Brian Kennedy some asset to have in the middle of the field

Hampsey on sideline but in tracksuit. Shoulder problem so hard to know how far away. Depending on group games could yet see some championship games this year. Can meyler make a full recovery? Seen him saying himself he didn't know whether or not he would be back

Was duboius about Teague but great determination good work against Dublin Callaghan got nothing much after the goal(Morgan should surely have stayed on his line wind or no). Liked Daly's enthusiasm and work rate too. McCurry proved his value and cannot see why Bradley was in before him earlier. Kennedy best midfielder in Ireland now l believe. Ruari Canavan looked determined to grab a starting place when he came on. But Dublin were dire like a team with depression and that seems down to Farrell. Real chance to have a good run at Sam. But Hampsey still badly needs but how would he get match practice b4 championship is a problem the way GAA elitism is going killing club.
That head to head rule re. relegation is daft. It should have been a playoff with Armagh. It is a league. The difference between Tyrone at start and finish of league shows form over the whole league and not head to head should count to seperate teams/decide status l believe.

You could argue forever on what way it should work. I have no complaints with the head to head. If you are level on points with a team, I think it being decided on who won the head to head match is the fairest way to do it.

Mad the flip in Derrys fortunes since Gallagher went. If I was a Derry fan, I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

Why was McElholm a sub?

Quote from: ShoresOfTyrone on March 20, 2025, 11:57:53 AMSlow start for the U20's but when they got settled and going in the second half they never looked in doubt. Squad depth looked good with their introductions from the bench, Michael McIlhatten and Eoin Donaghy in particular. McElhom was also brilliant when he came on.

Why was McElholm on the bench?

A keeper touching it shouldn't matter, if it's from outside the arc it should be 2 points.

Did Walsh take his free back from where it should have been taken against Tyrone to get a 2 point chance? That shouldn't be allowed either.

Quote from: gallsman on March 13, 2025, 07:01:57 AMWhy should he be allowed retake it? "It was an accident" doesn't really cut the mustard.

Why do you definitively say there was nothing wrong with it? He's not allowed touch it twice. If he did, then it's a foul.

There was no clear and obvious foul, therefore VAR shouldn't be involved. Unless the ref spotted it.

Nothing wrong with that penalty. Retaking it wouldn't even be necessary.

Quote from: gallsman on March 02, 2025, 08:16:44 PMI remember watching Benn-McClellan as a youngun because it was live on ITV. Even as an 8 year old I was able to understand the savagery of it. A horrifying night.
McClennan was a class fighter. Didn't he put Benn on his arse first round? Fight looked over. But Benn was a tough cookie and clawed his way back into fight with sheer will. Or am I confusing another fight.

Benn was out through the ropes and it seemed like it was over. Some comeback. McClelland deaf and blind since.

I watched Anora a month ago and really enjoyed it.
I have just abandoned it halfway thru (where Vanya's da arrives at the house). Does anyone know if it is supposed to have subtitles or are they just missing off the Firestick?

Aye, I had to hoke about a few apps to get the right link.

Quote from: lurganblue on March 06, 2025, 11:12:57 AMDuring the big storm, I lost plenty of slates from the roof and with all of that, something hit the bonnet of the car and scraped it in multiple places. It somehow is not dented, but badly enough scraped. Anyone know if that's a costly respray?

Probably around 3 or 4 hundred.
