Where was Donald?

In fairness He's been doing interviews, shows etc for the past year. Very few people have any idea what Kamala stands for so it was good that someone challenged her to understand if she is fit to be a president.

Fair if you can trot out two, or even one line that suggests Donald J Trump is qualified to be President.

Having held the office before is not even a half a line.

QuoteWhat was clear from the interview is in no way, shape or form is she qualified to be a president. She has flipped on so many issues I have no doubt she will flip on them again if she wins the election (Border, Fracking, Medicare for All, EV mandate, defund the police and so on). I've heard a number of women that are staunch Democrats say that she is an embarrassment to all the smart women in the country that she could be the first female president.

Is there a fundamental difference in flipping on issues, and flat out lying about issues, crime, and slanderous comments? Just, askin for a friend. They're a non fundamentalist, environmentalist.

QuoteLooking at what is going on for the past few weeks the Presidential election is down to two choices, vote for Trump or not for Trump. They could run kermit the frog as the "not for Trump" option and he would get >50% of the vote.

It's always been vote for Trump or not vote for Trump. Ever since the Mr McMahon of American wealth and politics got involved it's love or loathe. There is nothing new on this.

QuoteIt's a sad state that these two are left run for one of the most powerful positions in the world. After looking at the 4 candidates (VP's also), the only one that has come across well is Vance.

It is beyond a sad state. But then again we are the generations that have voted for Walmart, Amazon, Priviatization, and been happy to be the lackies who support the INSANELY wealthy. Christ, it's almost like we are Turkeys who voted for Thanksgiving (to steal an American phrase).

Vance is most certainly the best spoken of the four, but like many before him He too will learn that the day you DON'T do what Donald wants, is the day your career dies. Not to mention his credibility will be gone long before that. I hope he makes his Billions before then.

BTW, Kermit would beat Kamala 53:47. He would beat Trump, well markedly different.

Think he starts over Calafiori, not sure if he starts over Timber

Might have been premature in that statement. The young Maldini is proving to be a great fit.

Ciaran compares the A5 to a Famine road

I met this lad a couple times recently on trips home - he doesn't seem to have any rationale for heading up this Alternative A5 group as far as I could tell. i.e. he isn't a wealthy protestant land owner.

What's his motivation?

Seemed like a nice enough fella but maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Really struggling to understand the ire of arsenal and non arsenal fans at the reaction from the game and how the second half was played. What world are you living in where you expected any other performance in the second half, it would be folly to "play a man up front" on the hope of the breakaway against arguably the best team in world soccer on their home turf.

Dark arts? My hole. Emirates will be a hell of a rematch.

Quote from: weareros on September 20, 2024, 07:41:55 PMCould easily name a few great Quo songs from their classic era from 1968-76, starting with Pictures of Matchstick Men - one of best psychedelic songs ever written.

Absolute banger. They were choc full of great tunes, even if they were simplistic. It'd didn't need to be groundbreaking in order to hit the mark. Something many artists forget.

Any love for Status Quo?

All live tunes, none written by Elvis some epic performances from the 70s. Honorable mention to In the Ghetto however.

1. Polk Salad Annie

2. Lost that loving feeling (if this suit weren't too tight)

3. Unchained Melody - This was near the end, and it's hard to watch. Goosebumps.

Fascinatingly so, if also somewhat predictable!

It's all or nothing in here. I wouldn't be a fan of a woman plastered in a full sleeve but clearly there are many good looking women with small tattoos on an ankle or shoulder who won't be impacted in later life.

What would be an example of later life impact?

Quote from: seafoid on September 04, 2024, 09:21:05 PMThe war has been a disaster for Israel.  At last the gaaboard population is pro Palestinian.

Seafoid, the GAA population is undoubtedly Pro Palestinian. We grew up in a partitioned society with the British wrecking the place.

That said, you've been making bold prophetic statements for over a decade now about Israel's demise - that's how you post - and you've yet to hit the mark. Maybe it's time you hung up the speculative boots. They aren't going anywhere.

I say that with no joy at all - its the reality of the political landscape of the western governements.
