Isn't it ridiculous that after an Ulster minor final in Clones ( yes, Ulster final - not a wee league game between two club sides )that the main topic of conversation is whether it was a point or not - most people agree that it was a wide - in fact I don;t think that sanyone disagrees - so more importantly what can we do to prevent this from happening again - it's a shame in thin 2007 that we can't decide if a ball is over the ball or not !

my point exactly orangeman. its a disgrace that these incidents are even happening! i wouldnt mind questioning the umpire beside that post to see what the hell he was actually doing! if its his eyesight then he shouldnt be there in the 1st place. and again just to point out im not now concerned with a replay or the fact that derry lost its the principle! this could and more than likely will happen again and again and again. and god knows it could be a vital one in an all ireland semi or somethin! it needs sorted now.

dont think this thread should even have been started! gettin a bit ahead of the thing there! as the season stands after that performance against monaghan anything after that was always goin to be a bonus. i think people will feel that altho derry beat armagh and mayo, both those teams would pose more of a threat overall to the big 2. derry will just take one game at a time and the good thing for us is that theres absoultely no pressure on us. at the min anyway. its good to get a bit of momentum going but if derry win another couple of matches then perhaps il come back to this thread!

bwtween what hapned in the minor match and the likes of the few sqaure ball incidents wve had this year the gaa seriously needs to put more of an emphasis on the job an umpire has to do. they arent there for decoration. if the referee had made such a balls-up he'd be under scrutiny from every corner of the county but when some eejit cant see a ball 6ft away from him theres somethin seriously wrong. umpires are part of the refereeing team and need to be more involved and make more accurate decisions. THAT IS THEIR JOB. as for tyrone offering a replay i doubt they will and why would they? i know its not the same as winnin ulster but at least derry are still in the running.

Anybody feel guilty in particular the so called Derry supporters, if that were to be the case.  Any of the critics prepared to put their real name up?

how about u puttin ure real name up? im not goin to put my name up, why wud i? should i be paddys next door neighbour or livin in south africa u im still entitled to an opinion. as i said i wasnt singling out pb when i say the passion and honour isnt there but i do still think that he could have trained with the county on a few occasions during his suspension. do u not agree? i mean he was always going to appeal it again and again and to the highest level, and why not? but if hes appealin then theres a chance of gettin the original decision overturned therefore a chance of playin against antrim! he should have kept himself there and there abouts. in my opinion anyway. its open for debate, as always  :D

As far as attitude and desire goes, you dont know PB very much if you think he hasnt either of these. I would go as far as toi say Iv never seen a more focused person who trains hard, works lots on his own and always aims to prove critics wrong

maybe a bit harsh alrite, but iwasnt singling out PB i mean in general the real desire to do good for ure county seems to be lacking a bit.

as for PB doing work on his own it seems very evident that this is true. the transformation from him bein "all left" was unbelievable, and this didnt come about from swingin the right boot at the ball a few times! it musta took some work so fair play. and if wot u say about PB not wantin to upset the team etc is genuine then fair play to him for puttin the team first. we have an actual chance of winnin ulster this year so im lookin fwd to the season ahead!
