it was only a matter of time before somebody brought that up, wudnt u know its a tyronie  ::)

we had a good few years of "no sam maguire in tyrone" so im happy enough  ;D

and yes i do know u have 2 and we hav 1, i can count. but u can win it for the next 20 years and it'll not change the fact that WE WON IT FIRST!  :D

as a loup man its goin to be hard to write this next paragraph  :D

the abuse colin devlin is gettin is totally unjustified, i thought he showed well, prob more so in 1st half but in 2nd half dublin counter acted derrys tactics extremely well, just like monaghan did to quell bradley and muldoon. not their fault! overall i thought an encouragin performance but we beat ourselves. ref didnt help matters but he didnt lose us the game. just shows tho, were not far away. we wasted so many chances yet were only beat by 3 points! an unlucky day at the office. something to build on. very sorry to see murphy going he was on for another MOTM performance. congrats to mccloy for gettin it did very well but IMO fergal doc was absolutely unreal. 2nd half performance wud justify giving him MOTM. it is also very interesting that all candidates (apart from vaughan) for MOTM wre derry men, that in itself tells a tale.

ps the atmosphere today was 2nd to none, hard to beat a packed croker with the hill as blue as my dvd collection.

kerry to scrape monaghan, kerry to beat dublin, meath to beat cork well, tight final but kerry to pull away with 10-15 to go. unfortunately. my hope-meath.

fair play to the oak leaf boys did us proud. if someone had offered me an AIQF against the dubs after the monaghan match i wud have jumped at it. good to see the pride back in our county. and the less said about skinner the better.

Anyway if as is expected both Ulster teams lose next weekend then for a 2nd year in a row Ulster will have no teams in the semi-final which would seem to indicate that the standard isn't the highest!!

cant agree wiith that sure if derry hada drawn monaghan then ulster wuda definitley been represented in semi. so u cant pin everthing on standards.

as for the match cant wait, sure its another day out! hopin derry will win, thinking dublin will. hope im wrong. gonna enjoy the day anyway.

Frank McGuigan had unreal skill and athletic ability for the build he had. No one mentioned on this thread could have touched him for all round natural ability, he could do it all.

no doubt top class but hardly a heavyweight  :-\

Have heard some funny stories about him and big Geoffrey in the FF line for Dungiven...a comedy double act.

i remember a match we played up at dungiven. a terrible day with gale force winds and poures the whole time! when the ball was up in their half and we were attacking joe and his marker were standing with their backs to the big wall behind the goals to get a bit of shelter  :D priceless

And yes, Brolly is a complete w**ker...

hes obviously pissed u off over the years perhaps more with his goals and points than his opinions as a pundit. get over it, dont see too many tyrone hallions bein pundits!

i think the pressure is bein put on the wrong people here. the games over. what happened happened, it wasnt tyrones fault so i dont see why they should be punished. as for the GAA they have to get the finger out and make umpires a more important part of the game. its a disgrace that the man standing at that post couldnt see it was a score. its a matter that has constently caused problems and now is the time to sort it. umpires think its a fckin day out for them. if they wanna relax and watch the game then go to the stands. otherwise do ure bloody job, just look at the controversy that is caused by their laid back attitude to the game. umpires need to get a rap on the knuckles and not just be pieces of goalpost decorations.

ffs, dont ye have the BBC, which takes a completely Ulster focus on the championship and ye are complaining about Pat Spillane being rude to poor wee Anthony !!

u must be jokin! too much hard work as u hav to mute the tv and commentate ureself to avoid cringe-worthy commentary by the bbc contingent!

Louper - you would have seen that the Derry Mayo match had been dealt with on the Saturday Game already and had been shown highlights of after the Dublin match...

There is obviously not too much interest even in Derry when you only bring about 750 to Clones to play Armagh...

dub i was at that armagh game and the mayo one and had to run straight back out the door to trainin so i did not see the saturday game. ys ure rite they did show detailed highlights but i still think it was downright bad mannered and arrogant of spillane to do that on live tv.

theres no point in tryin sly digs at me about the derry support, ive been to all the matches so i can be happy and content with my contribution. do u fancy dublin this year? 6-1 before the laois match would have been worth a nice wee wager.

Did anyone else not think it was disgraceful the way Spillane completely cut Tohill off when he tried to talk about Derry. i think derry would have to win an AI before they would be given any time. all spillane wanted to do was talk about "what now for mayo" personally i thought it was a disgrace and altho tohill asked him "am i not going to get a chance to talk about derry?" where spillane answred "there'll be plenty of time to talk about derry" i wouldnt have blamed tohill for getting up and walking out. what more do derry need to do to even get 2 minutes of talking time on the southern sunday game?
