Simply saying that starting the games earlier also fails to comprehend how difficult it is to play/train in November, the club finals are to be the showcase for the 'grass-roots' and people want to relegate them to potential mudbaths?

But the only additional 2 matches to the existing schedule will be the AI semi finals since the final will be played in Croke Park, not exactly a renowned mud bath. Also those 2 semi finals are currently played in mid February so that hardly constitutes guaranteed good ground so little would change in terms of pitch surfaces.

Everyone will have their own ideas but can anyone honestly say that its a good idea to have a 12 week break between the AI club quarter finals (provincial finals) and semi finals simply to drag the competition out in order to withold the tradition of playing the final on St Patricks day? At the very least it needs debating but I suspect it won't happen.

I think the new format is working well. Great to see Malin through. Glenties need to have a good look at themselves. A few years back they looked like they were going to dominate and instead they have slipped further and further back.

That's like the Mayo system for the last 9 years. Fair enough too I suppose.
