The people of West Belfast seem to be coping well with the news

Like a lot of these parties across the UK there wouldn't be too many there getting up to do a days work today.
There's a certain irony in the above post.

Deodorant. Hair gel. Moisturiser, when required. Hand cream very occasionally. Trim the pubes, a must IMO. Armpits as well, for practical reasons i.e. retain less sweat.

Use Moisturiser every day. Wax in the hair and I trim the beard instead of shaving as I hate shaving!  Have waxed my legs and chest for charity awful pain I don't know how people do it full time! Was recommended  sun beds to help with acne on the back but have not taken the plunge. Straighter's I thought you needed long hair to use them. Fake tan is for women in my opinion!
I would hit the sunbeds now and again. Extremely sensitive skin, meaning any time I have a wet shave I get a bad rash, same for a dry shave as well actually - sunbeds are good for speeding up the healing process so I dunno what it's like for acne but I know other fellas who have used them for that reason. In any case I would avoid them if possible, not worth the risk.

Watching the Philpott case, and noticed the strong links with the North,in terms obviously of his wife and a few of his and her friends, none of whom show Our Wee Country in a very good light.Hope our fellow UK citizens on the mainland don't think we're all weirdos over here.
Awful tragedy that it is, I saw a photo of the six kids, one was wearing a Dublin jersey. I had heard the wife was a traveller, didn't know she was from the north.

When Belfast Celtic folded, two of their most prominent players, jimmy Jones and Jackie Denver, joined their home town club,Glenavon and hence attracted a lot of former Celtic supporters to the Lurgan club, including my father and uncle, who were both Glenavon season ticket holders.

In the early 70s however that generation concluded that Irih league football was shite, and that with the troubles, meant that a lot of people on both sides avoided areas perceived to be either loyalist or republican, hence the cross community element of most Irish League clubs (with the obvious exception of Linfield who never had cross community support) became almost extinct.
Luckily Newry were always cross community in terms of support. I doubt anyone could say Glentoran were ever cross community, even before the troubles.
I was actually told that Glentoran had a Catholic following once upon a time.

Poor infrastructure (in the north anyway) and a massive abundance of wind energy that's crying out to be harvested means I voted no.

There'd be a few lads playing club as well I'd imagine which what I really meant. Dungannon Swifts have always had a few lads that strip out for their clubs if I remember right.

A lot of the current Linfield squad are of 'Catholic/Nationalist' backgrounds. The support is almost exclusively Unionist/Loyalist.

I always find it interesting however how the likes of Coleraine, Ballymena, Derry etc have sizeable Linfield support. Cliftonville to a certain degree have support from around the North.
Linfield support across NI in Coleraine, Ballymena etc is probably a bit to do with the fact they attract a certain type of uber-Prod across the six counties, and probably also because of their continued success.  Also, Protestants west of the Bann don't have many other attractive options e.g. Institute, Dergview etc.
I suppose the part highlighted makes some sense... The last bit is equally valid.

I can understand the likes of people from Lurgan/P'down following Cliftonville, because those two clubs are in predominantly Loyalist areas of those towns...  But why on earth would someone follow Linfield ahead of, or even as well as, Coleraine FC?

Out of curiousity, how many GAA players are in the Irish League at present? I know Linfield have two former Armagh men who would make a handy full-forward line...

Was hoping on doing that Queen's 5k but other commitments meant I wasn't able. 17 mins is a brilliant time. I would struggle to break 20 (pb), usually just over/under 21 is what I seem to be stuck at.

Oddly I seem to run quicker out on the road than I do on the treadmill  ???

Yeah Tommy is right, the treadmill is boring as fook and I've always had better times on the road, but it does serve a purpose, will be doing 5K on it later

Yeah Tommy will give it a lash some week, might do a half lap warm up before the parkrun some day, always rushing down or late so never best prepared in fairness
I only use treadmill for convenience more than anything really (that and to get a look at the women in the PEC). I find it boring alright but do 5k every time I'm in the gym (at least 2x/week) but still can't get my time down!

Are there any good 5k runs in Belfast? Preferably flat because the ones I do at home are quite hilly and want to try myself on a flat circuit..

How many Glen Maghera men were on the St Pat's panel? Seen there were something like 14 Clann Eireann players on the St Michael's McLarnon squad, albeit a grade lower I was just wondering has any other club contributed more players to one team at colleges' level???

Down 1991. I vividly recall leaving the Marshes after they struggled to beat a mediocre Armagh team saying to myselfthat even the pick of the two of them would win nothing. Even allowing for the terrible weather that day they were both brutal.  The rest is history of course.
If jim mcconville hadn't fell over himself history could have been very different!
That 91 down side were far from Mediocre.  Yes i agree that was a dreadful wet day in Newry and no one saw an All Ireland coming  after beating a terrible Armagh side but we more than had the quality to compete. How different History could have been had down not won that All Ireland. I dont think Derry and Donegal would have had the lift to go on and win their first titles if Down hadnt shown the way.

Strange logic.
Not really?? Widely accepted that Mullaghbawn's Ulster exploits in 95 was part of the catalyst that motivated Crossmaglen to go one further the next year.
