All paper talk anyway and will probably amount to nothing, I know they have very high hopes for Tuanzebe so would be surprised if they go after another defender of the same age unless he was something very special. We've got 10 defenders, we need a proper clearout in that department; Could easily make a strong case for getting rid of 6 of them.

Just hoping OGS makes Rashford his centre forward; Martial, Pogba & Mata will reap the benefits of him.

You can't be serious?? Persevere with Lukaku, get him into shape and get his confidence back.  Rashford is the new Danny Wellbeck.

I'd love nothing more to stop paying my mortgage, and tell the bank and the credit card company to feck aff. But hey I'm a responsible man who took those payments on and will pay them off..

They were over the top but WTF is all the gurnning for, I could see it if he'd missed 2 months of a mortgage payment but €800,000!!

That should be put in the WTF thread

I still have sympathy for the sisters though. If hes cnut, then fair enough. I just think there's a point where the poor are treated like shite on your shoe as opposed to Fitzpatrick and the likes. At least Sean Quinn did time.

I actually liked Varadkar alot (I'm a big SF supporter, but the way he has handled this is atrocious.

None of it was handled well, and why is anyone surprised the 'poor' get shit on from a high? But no one can say they havent been warned enough times that this was going to happen...

If your man had have kept his mouth shut then no one would have batted an eyelid.. If someone broke into a house and stole €800,000 would they get any sympathy?

I just don't understand he opinions of alot on here. It seems we're all around the same age (30-40), either from rural or city places. The vast majority of us have been raised on the dole, or some other mechanism alongside our parents working. We came from nothing, but now we are older and with good jobs, we look down on others. My opinion is, if he can get away with a big VAT bill, fair play to him. Screw the system.

Harsh on North Tyrone. Most clubs there struggling for numbers but still ploughing away. Always felt we would benefit from a divisional/amalgamated team. On that though heres my North Tyrone select:

1. Benny Gallen (aghyarn)
2. Brendan Boggs (Owen Roes)
3. Owen Devine (Aghyarn)
4.  Ciaran Mc Glinchey (aghyarn)
5. Ryan Henry (Urney)
6. Ronan Mc Namee (Aghyarn)
7. Brian Mc Garvey (Gortin)
8. Ruairi Gormley (Strabane)
9. Fergal Mc Nulty (Urney)
10. Cathal Mc Shane (Owen Roes)
11. Aidan Mc Sorley (NTS)
12. Kevin Gallagher (NTS)
13. Sean og Mc Aleer (Gortin)
14. Ronan Mc Hugh (Aghyarn)
15. Ryan Mc Shane (Owen Roes)

Tried to get a good spread of clubs.

It was only tongue in cheek.

No, I've no plans to do so. A meaningless tournament with no official standing. Akin to a friendly match. It's actually a danger to let children participate. When you compare it with the Feile you realise that there's no comparison.

Which Feile? The official 1 with loads of teams taking part? Or the unofficial 1 which is where the best teams play?

harte only pulling canavan in now so he can say he was the one who gave him his first chance. you think harte was gonna do the sensible thing and wait 2 yrs and bring the 20yr old canavan in from u20s? no, god forbid there could be a new mangager in place by then and mickey wouldn't have got his hands on him. and il bet my last dollar that harte will be using this lad as a pawn to negotiate a contract extension in 2 years time or even less.

God forbid the u20 manager would win something and put pressure on harte for his job. This is going to make it very difficult for the u20s and leaves harte more secure in his own job for another few years (here's hoping). I'd say that's more his thinking.

Classic nonsensical Lennyism.  ;D

He's taken 2 good players from the u20s and realistically how much game time will they get with the seniors? Do you think these players are physically ready for senior county football? And at the end of the season the u20 manager will be be blamed for another bad season and harte continues on with no pressure on him.

It's very cynical but it makes sense. By all accounts Canavan is a star in the making but its very early for him I think. Realistically how many games is he going to play this year? Someone above mentioned Clifford, but the difference in stature between both is incredible. I hope he is the second coming of Jesus because we need him

4 Gallsman who seems to have got out the wrong side of the bed this morning.
"Security" people operating in the 26 Cos are required to be licensed.
I think it's a fair bet the self declared "British" thugs who threw their weight around last Tuesday aren't so licensed.

Can't imagine that they're not licensed in some capacity?

The Jets and Jaguars defences made Sanchez and Bortles look component but it ended up being totally inconsequential. Whatever a Bears team did or didn't do in another era has no bearing on this season. Trubisky was a bad pick at a terrible price.

Not really seeing how you're so sure that Trubisky is a bad pick, we can only go on results and as it is he is being successful. Also Sanchez wasn't as horrible as imagined. He went into Foxboro and came out with a win, went to the Bengals and did the same. He finished his career tamely but that was due to nerves and lack of confidence rather than ability.

But again Syf, my opinion is probably wrong and yours is right.

So is their three camps on this thread?

1 camp that says they should be evicted??
Another camp that says they shouldn't be evicted and the people should defend them?
And a third camp saying that the IRA (who have disbanded) are orchestrating this to incite hatred of the devilish Brits in Roscommon?

When you are going for 5 in a row and the success seems to be continuing then its easy enough to stay and win trophies

Guaranteed part of history, life-time guarantee of fame and and the great opportunities that will come from that....easy to sell that over the limited chance of actually making it in Aussie rules.
With all due respect bc, they are guaranteed sweet FA!
Only the creme de la creme will ever get near the intercounty panel, never mind establishing a place on the senior side. With only one county board to cater for a population equal to that of a total of 15 other counties, the wastage of young players is shocking.
Any weekend there are probably 10,000 juveniles or more involved in club activities throughout the county but with only one senior side at the top of the pile, only an incredibly tiny percentage will continue playing football as far as senior club level, never mind making it to the county side.
All along the line, from, say, under eights to senior intercounty level, the drop off rate is shocking. Naturally, some will drift away to follow other interests or to go chasing women or whatever but the numbers forced out due to a lack of opportunity to play at a higher level as they get older, means that only a tiny percentage of those who come in at the bottom of this typical  pyramid structure with make it to the top.
I'm not coat-trailing her, by the way. It doesn't take a rocket scientist  to deduce that thousands of aspiring young Dubs will never get a chance to achieve their full potential. The Dublin club model is caters exclusively for the talented but that comes with a very hefty price tag.

That's a big coup for Killyclogher if it's sealed.

Do you think so?  Wouldnt think so myself.  Another manager who just follows the pound.

Your showing yourself up as not having a clue, three in a row with Kilcoo, won another with Dromore. There's not many running around who deliver the gooods, he does, as does Dom Corrigan with your own club Carrickmore, Clontibret and Killyclogher, another is Damian Cassidy with Bellaghy, a couple with Clonoe, then Cargin, another is Mickey Moran with Omagh and Slaughtneil, John Brennan's another with a serious record of successes.  Just a few names who consistently get results. If you had of mentioned someone who hadn't delivered I wouldn't have bitten.

I think though that McIver is just an example of being in the right place at the right time. Dromore had already won 2 of the previous 4 Championships (been in 3 finals). Same with Kilcoo. His time in Kilcoo will be remembered as not delivering Ulster. Check out the Down page and you'll see what I mean.

But is that not what we don't want? Are Dublin in need of having a B team to further showcase their talents. Can't help but think there are at least 30 more able county players in Dublin who could contribute to even more success for the Dubs, but won't get the chance because of the depth available already.
