GAA Discussion / Re: Recording In-Game Stats

What are clubs using to record & present in game stats?

We are a relatively new management team and would like to know what smallish clubs typically use to record in-game stats?

Are there (relatively) cheap apps / software available or is pencil & paper best. Costs is definitely a factor here.

We are not looking for earth shattering stats either, namely, turnovers, interceptions, kickouts, frees, shots/wides is what we are looking at.
Also, are the stats provided at water breaks & HT or throughout the game?

I've used StatAPult in recent times with Gaelic football. Used when helping out with a team when I was injured.
Compatible with iPads last time I seen it. Not too
difficult to use over time. Think it's about €16-17 last time I checked.

His David Dooley gone to play Rugby fulltime? Best of luck to him if thats true.

See he's been called up to Leinster 19s squad. Assuming it's part of academy. More power to him best of luck!

are they Na Fianna?

great to see Portarlington and Emo.

Yes its great to see both Port and Pauls building their way up through the juvenile ranks against all the odds

hopefully in a year or two they will be in a position to put in standalone minor teams also.

A lot could learn from them in the promotion of underage hurling within the county

No doubt it's great to see the football areas thriving in hurling underage. I hope it gets the support required to sustain it. Hopefully won't end up like a Slieve Margy and disintegrate over time.

Hopefully these age groups  get some meaningful games this year, coaching in development squads of some description and GDAs can be established in the clubs interested in doing it (across both codes).

The amalgamations as mentioned can be messy and hopefully over time will see clubs fielding on their own where they can. I see Clonad and Trumera underage at 13s on their own good to to see. Hopefully sustain players as they transition to adults.

Don't think that's true at all, Sancho is outstanding. Bellingham is even better.

I agree with Bellingham point he's exceptional. I would happily be proved wrong with Sancho but time will tell.

That was absolutely pathetic. Didnt look like they wanted to win the game against a side that would probably finish 11-14th in the premier league. Cavani and McT played well I thought but the rest were anonymous. Disgusted with Pogba and especially Rashford.

Pogba should be told where to go after tonight looking for £400k a week. De Gea has given  great years of service but flapped at penalties tonight even if it was a savage shootout for neutrals. He'll probably go in the summer though. You'd wonder if Henderson would have made any difference in shootout.
Probably the end of Mata as well. Daniel James offers very little except pace. I'd be offloading him on the summer and Lingard. Lindelof and Bailly hit and miss (Bailly can be as rash as Rojo was at times).
Lost too many goals this years from crosses and Centre back needs to be addressed ASAP to back up Maguire. Rashford needs to find some bit of form was poor tonight.

Liverpool were schooled in a Europa League final in 2016 and only for a shite goalie in 2018 would have probably beaten Real Madrid in Champions League final. Need to be smart in transfer window but I have my doubts. Pau Torres being the start. Tielemens stalling on a contract or Ruben Neves to look at. I'm not convinced with Sancho. Wouldn't be half the hype if he wasn't English. I get low thinking United scouts passed Ruben Dias and chose lindelof over Van Dijk.
Solskjaer will get another year to turn things around. After that god only knows. Really lacking that killer instinct to at least try win tonight. Were playing for penalties early in extra time.

A win would have been nice of course but it would possibly be papering over the cracks of frailties in the side.

f**k that.  :(

I defended DDG in the past, but that weak penalty was pathetic.

Him missing a penalty was the final straw?

Probably not but I'm raging.

Any United fan would be raging. And you'd hope the players will be sick after that and kick on. Unfortunately just have to take the medicine from few class clowns on the forum and move on. Pau Torres was phenomenal tonight. Get the buyout clause sorted before the Euros.. Lindelof's days have to be numbered. McTominay and Cavani probably only 2 that played to their potential.
Hopefully Solskjaer gets backing in the summer.

We're hoping to go with Abbeyleix on one pending Commitee approval, Portlaoise need more than 1 but it's a start.
Clonad I hear possibly sharing one eventually. Good to see clubs taking this on board.

Looks like a wasted 20quid. Absolutely awful so far.

Yes would agree with that. Found this week's performance frustrating. It's obviously a strategy to feed the ball to the corner backs from puck outs and that might be fair enough (Cork did it well last night) but the idea that corner backs seem to be encouraged to run into opposition tacklers is a bit mind boggling to be honest. It's not great to see the same mistakes being repeated from one match to another.

There were too many frees conceded and again the forward play was really poor (not necessarily all the forwards' fault). The use of ling range frees was really poor too and just sucks the life out of the team.

I thought the best for us was Sean Downey and Cha. Paddy Purcell was very good in spots but we have to figure out a way to keep him more involved throughout the game.

If you give away 14 scores from frees you're going to win nothing. Granted the ref was very trigger happy with whistle at times but turned over stupid ball from over carrying, 1 ball being caught 3 times.
We're lacking aerial ball winners up front with short puck outs as we still have difficulty winning our own ball.
I'm conscious it's new management and lot of players missing but giving 30 scores away with a sweeper  (not even goals conceded). Let PJ Scully go back and try few longer range frees going forward. Worth having some variety on free taking than leaving Rowland to try them.
It was an improvement to last week but hopefully will improve with games.
Still haven't played to anywhere near their potential yet.

Disappointing result but full credit to Liverpool were far superior tonight for majority. Crazy just can't play out from the back. Fred awful. Go and get another centre back and Rice cdm after tonight. Liverpool should have had 6-7 goals.

Harsh scoreline in the end, Laois worked hard throughout but just lacked that bit of quality in the final third. Lots to work on and the league not made any easier with Antrims win over Clare.
Game was awful to watch but to be expected in first game back. Forwards bar King were very poor. Could neither score or tackle today. Seemed to be constantly running into Wexford players and being turned over. Obviously weather conditions didn't help wides and  badly missing key players up front. They're going to have to get up the standard soon as season will be over before you know it.
Hopefully it'll be much improved after today.
