On the radio almost everyone mentions rents, the cost of living, and housing lack of availability. This could mean a land for FF and FG. In other countries, the combination of inflation and housing led to the government losing ie the US,UK , France.

70% of people have a house, inflation has now declined and the electricity payments etc did take the sharp edge off increases in the past.

Some of the Trump playbook is evident in the election.

Trump silly dancing: Harris and Mary Lou tried to step it out during canvassing. Micheál Martin hopped up on a Buffalo. All trying the silly stuff. Cringe.

Trump's "send them back." Sinn Fein announced they will have all the Ukrainians sent back by 2026

Trump doing podcasts. Trump on Joe Rogan, Mary Lou on Joe Brolly.

Trump using successful but triggering CEO like Musk. FG use Michael O'Leary (which backfired)

There's probably more.

Podcasts probably the way forward, especially to connect with the younger audience, Harris trying it too.

Martin didn't look too steady on the buffalo anyway lol.

This was mostly routine campaigning, nothing to do with Trump.
However, the SF plan is a bit like Brexit, it is not the Ukrainians that people want to deport.

It's slowly changing, but the default position in BBC NI has been that the 26 are somewhere near Mongolia and should be treated as such for news purposes.

I'm reminded of a comedy sketch from a couple of decades ago with a BBC NI newreader announcing, at the end of the news, that Dublin had been hit by a meteorite and that a number of people from NI had been killed.

"Aberdeen man drowns as liner sinks on 1st voyage"
Said to be a headline on a local paper when Titanic went down.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

See Slimy Harris starting to talk about airbrushing the past. Thats when you know Mary Lou has him rattled.

Using the words Marylou and
air brushing in the same sentence proves Nordies have no sense of irony.

FF/FG and the current SF were all bourne out of the armed resistance to British occupation.

The only difference is the timeline.
