Good business. Needed a midfielder, badly, got a midfielder. Had to spend the money to get him but so be it. At least they got their balls out. Still need another one and a defender imo though.

Not sure you can say it is good business at this stage given the figure and the fact lad has played 45 premier league games.  Delighted to have got a CDM all the same. 

Strange they wouldn't budge on a few million for Laiva and then go break british transfer record.

Bad business would be not getting anyone. Which it may still turn out to be. The figure is inflated no doubt but if he brought a title/silverware the fee would be small change like VVD and AB now.

Klopp always talks about  only wanting players that want to play for Liverpool so if he wants to join Chelsea for a few quid more wages then Liverpool be better off without him.

So how much Southampton be looking for Lavia now?

Good game, especially in the first half. Could have went either way. Happy enough with away point, but clearly a lot of work for Liverpool to do, especially in midfield and defense.

For all the talk of premiership quality the amount of mis-hit passes in the last 15mins by both teams was laughable.

That's Liverpool's best team out there today, I thought they'd blow Chelsea away in the first half, Mo looked a bit pissed, I thought he was playing well enough to stay on in front of others.

Chelsea have a serious injury list, I'd say they are happier to not lose
