General discussion / Re: What Electricity Supplier?
January 11, 2012, 08:27:04 PM
Was told by a reputable energy advice person to switch to budget electric a few weeks ago, he had switched to airtricity a while ago so couldn't switch himself. He also mentioned that unlike airtricity, budget electric cover commercial properties and that I should get my club to switch suppliers. I'm not on the committe this year so I don't know whether or not they switched.

General discussion / Re: Stephen Lawrence Trial

There are striking similarities between the Lawrence case and Robert Hamill's murder, substitute institutional sectarianism for institutional racism by the authorities. Here's hoping for a similar outcome, I wouldn't hold my breath though.

He's originally from Portadown isn't he? Anyhow he married the best looking girl at our school. Would be interesting to see what she looks like now.

Just finished the latest Erast Fandorin by Boris Akunin, The Diamond Chariot. A fantastic book, it's two novels in one, the first is set in 1905 during the Russo-Japanese war and the second recounts Fandorin's time in Japan in 1878. There is a shocking twist on the final page.

The night was a great success, the place was packed to the rafters. Among the items auctioned were signed Kilkenny, Tipperary & Crossmaglen jerseys. Paul McCormack also donated his 2002 jersey to the auction. There was also a parachute jump, a villa in Spain and Man Utd tickets and a number of other items up for auction.

I had to leave early, 2.30 am, the craic was only getting started!

Big thanks to everyone who contributed in any way, final figures have yet to be added up but it looks like £20k or thereabouts has been raised.
