I actually thought Armagh were ok first half against a very good Westmeath side playing a refreshing brand of football. The High Press they used defensively really disrupted the Armagh rhythm.

Second half I felt Armagh made the necessary adjustments and fared much better keeping Westmeath scoreless for almost 20 minutes and always looking comfortable with out really having to exert themselves.
I thought Armagh were spot on in the first half(& throughout tbh, we won in 3rd gear) the game was shite tho. Westmeath were very ordinary - and unoriginal, but who is original these days.

Mcgeary looked really sickened at the end. Tyrones only Plan B seems to be throw McShane to the edge of the box, which every county in Ireland has copped on to.
Very disappointing second half.

So Rishi rich wants mandatory national service for 18 year olds. We need to get as far away as possible from these people... (though I suspect it's about as likely as a bridge to Scotland)

Quote from: imtommygunn on May 25, 2024, 09:49:35 PMKildare and Meath same boat. Some half decent underage players but from the outside looking in it looks like in both counties they have went for former playing legends and it hasn't worked out at all. Yes it runs a bit deeper than those two men but if Louth can raise their level like that Meath and Kildare should be fit to do something too.
. Colm is a legend of the game. But too long out of county seniors. He just hasn't got what it takes. I'd argue that we got to super 8s and division one with less talented players. But we were lethargic and bereft of any ideas. What is letting us down now is manager and coaching. It's over the game is up. We cannot let these players who I believe are capable of bringing Meath to div 1 and all ire quarters drift aimlessly away cb need to act asap. This can't be let run for another year.

3rd louth goal very lucky, Meath doesn't seem to play with a sweeper. Every top county does these days.

The wind was a definite factor, in the second half with the wind Armagh bunged in 5 points and then relaxed to some extent. But there were passes that went astray that that will not do in our next two games.

No structure on attack or defence and miles off Donegal fitness wise. Major rebuild needed including the men on the line.

Genuinely no sign of any form of structured attack outside of hoping Canavan or McCurry come up with some magic. If we come up against a packed defence we are totally clueless. That was a real sickener this evening.
