Can we just offer our commiserations to the Pronunciation Unit in the RTÉ Sports Department? For them, the nightmare continues  ;D

On a more serious note, we'd just like to thank everyone from the rest of Longford and from Cavan who were supporting us the last day and today. When your base is 447, every extra head counts.

Yes - but when you take the rugby crowd out of the 447 then it's an even bigger ask!

The Mullinalaghta v St Vincents game is surely what the GAA is all about. The big city club against the half parish. Hope TG4 show it live.

Up against three out of four provincial finals so I doubt it.

More precisely, up against St Brigid's v Corofin so I doubt it'll even get much coverage on Shannonside.

Well done to Vincent's and the best of luck in the business end of the championship.

Interesting journey for us and a worthwhile experience which hopefully will serve us well in the future.

I am sure ye can learn from it and come back with the insight next year
That is what the club championship is all about. And what a fantastic name.

Our club won its first county championship in 87. We got to the AIF in 88 and the whole parish was in Dublin but we were beaten out the gate by a team with more cuteness.
We came back. And developed into the team with the cuteness.
It's a great thing for a club to see what is possible.

I was at the match yesterday and, God, Mullinalaghta coulda done it.

All for a few misses and a few stray kick outs and clearances that were punished by Vincents.

Well done to them for a great run and putting the small rural club back in the spotlight. That's where most of us come from.

Mullinalaghta now share the Leinster stage with Killoe, Clonguish and the Windies in getting as far as the Leinster semi. Shame that they coldnt go one better.

Wonder will it be hard to focus on what's left - Layder Cup etc.

Did the others get to the Leinster semi on the first go ?

I didn't know Larry Cunningham was from Mullinalaghta.  Would he go to matches?

I know he played for them - may have played for Granard as well.

Fair point Seafoid about first time in Leinster - that, I spose, would put them top of the pile.

Killoe got to it in 2012 after a 17-year absence and Clonguish in 2003 after a 22-year break.

The big factor for us this year - both in Leinster and more importantly for the county championship - was that it was the first year when we had no core players absent due to injuries. Injuries probably lost us the chance of a county title last year.

Mullinalaghta is an example of how to run a game changing project. Start at the beginning. Build it up. Work on a coherent plan. Do the iterations and execute. Bring the people with you
All good stuff. Honest  . Excellent. Inspiring.

I have to do a presentation in December on Brexit and I have been thinking about Mullinalaghta versus Nigel Farage.

Up the half parish  Patrick Kavanagh had a poem about the local as the global.
