If they can't raise their game against Dromard they never will.  Looks like they romped home against Rathcline too, so who knows - NL should know best (if he's tipping Killoe, we might be confident :)).

Is NL North Longford or NorthLongford!!!!! You know me better Billy, I'm tipping no one, but I'd say Killoe will do it.!

Just checking you were awake!  I thought North Longford and NorthLongford were both you - I guess now you're saying that's not the case, or are you becoming the O'Neill of the Midlands?

I know who I am and I'm pretty sure I'm still me!!! Lucky enough there's only one of me. Hopefully my namesake(almost) will have a better grasp of the goings on of the GAA.

Quarter-finals:

Abbeylara 1-8 Longford Slashers 0-13

Despite calling in substantial reinforcements, Abbey were unable to prevail.

I imagine the Abbeylara section of the Longford Slashers Supporters Club (who were so much in evidence at last year's quarter-finals) feel quite conflicted over that result.

Killoe 1-9 Colmcille 0-12

Colmcille were the classier team, led 8-4 at half time, and should have been able to win this match, which featured a, ehm, notable refereeing performance from Derek Fahy.

Fr Manning Gaels 2-7 Ballymahon 0-5

Sacrificial victims for the Reich chosen.

Interesting results.  Were Slashers any good?

"Abbey lost it on the line" is what I was told by Abbeys (I didn't go myself). The gentleman pictured above was brought on twice and taken off once (I think).

Yis have Rocky Tierney reffing the replay. We have the pleasure of Mr. Fahy for the relegation playoff.

I don't think it matter much; they're much of a muchness in their ineptitude.  Unless ... is Wally still officiating?

Semi-final:

Clonguish 1-18 Fr Manning Gaels 1-7

Relegation playoff final:

Mullinalaghta 2-19 Carrickedmond 0-4. Either we lose in the last minute or we win by 20+. Where were those points when we needed them?  ???

I dont think Wally '20 min first half 40 min second half' Flood is still in action.

Well done Colmcille in getting this far - I don't think that was expected. Hopefully ye'll beat the Slashers and then face the might of the Reich in the final.

If Satan's army was playing agin Slashers I'd be wearing proudly the cloven hoof.

You speak too soon, young Shore:

Goodness Laurel.

Are there any new refs coming through? Rocky is in his early 50s and Wally would have VAT on top of that.

Would Boots' younger more talented brother not don a whistle?

I don't think so, he's kept busy these days.

Since we last spoke...

Colmcille bowed out before the power of Slashers...

Moydow won the titanic conflict that is the Longford Junior 'A' Football Championship by walloping Shroid (The Original) Slashers...

Ballymore are through to the Intermediate final where they will face either Killashee or Grattans...

Mostrim will face The Reich for the Senior Hurling crown at some time suitable to the Clonguish Legal Department...

and The Reich also do battle with The Townies on Sunday for Connolly. (I believe there's a matter of a Minor final on beforehand but we'll not dwell on that.)

How is the board not at a fever pitch of speculation?

A bitta feckin speculation:

QuoteBallymore are through to the Intermediate final where they will face either Killashee or Grattans...

Killashee, I s'pose, if it's a dry day.

QuoteMostrim will face The Reich for the Senior Hurling crown at some time suitable to the Clonguish Legal Department...

One for the lawyers I'd be thinking.

QuoteThe Reich also do battle with The Townies on Sunday for Connolly.

Two up to the lawyers.

Quotea matter of a Minor final

Yerra, we'll go for the half-parish (and another bit).  ;)
