seeing drunken louts at a GAA game sickens me.

My apologies, I misunderstood.

When it comes to Armagh matches would the worst of the offenders in terms of the drunken louts be from a certain part of the County (near the M1)?  Previous experience would lead me to believe this is the case but I am happy to be proven wrong.

A south Armagh person would want to be sober enough to watch the game.

At the Armagh Galway quarter final game in CO the Sri Ken Armagh fans fighting in the bogs who knocked my nephew over weren't form north or south Armagh. I can tell you that

Drunken louts can have loyalty too

And could well have been at all the league games

any guitar players got any tips of mastering barre chords

* make sure your hand / arm is correct, ie you'll want your thump and index finger to form a clamp.

* learn to play open E with your middle, ring and pinky finger (makes it easier to move the E shape barre chairs down the fret board)

* maybe start with power chords, ie E A D strings (E shape barre) or A D G strings (A shape barre) and learn to navigate up and down the fret board memorising the chords.

* do not get hung up on all the strings ringing clear, the bottom B string can be a brut. Work on placing the barre chord as quick and accurately as you can.

Haven't looked, but I'm sure Justin Sandercoe or Andy Guitar would have a video or two with better / clearer tips

You must be going rightly if you're learning the barre chords

Ive been playing on and off for a while but the last few months been doing it more consistently. Ive always stopped when I get to the barre chords but am determined to get them this time

Best of luck. If you haven't already, and want to move up the neck, try triads. If you know basic barre shaping, it's handy enough to work out the major and minor triad for each chord, it's a quare adventure.

It looks like it. Unless Spurs win their 5 remaining games by a 20 goal difference and Liverpool lose their 3 remaining games

Because this is Ulster, where every team in the province has contested the final at least once  in the last twenty years.

There are certainties. Antrim & Fermanagh are going to lose. Down extremely likely to as well.

You could have picked 4 out of 9 to win it. 2 of those are in the final.

The Leinster final of 2023 had 2 Division 2 teams in it. They felt no need to use that fact to big themselves up. We, in Ulster, do. Our football can be fcukin dreadful too, and there's plenty of evidence this weekend.

Down goals were a comedy of errors defensively. There was some running and handpassing in the build up, nothing more.

Genuinely shocked at how much credit people are trying to give down. They turned up to play as little football as possible, and when they did, were largely terrible at it.

Thomas Niblock has called it a phenomenal performance from Down on Twitter. I think your assessment is closer to the truth about their performance.
