McAllister's family is Irish. He has a brother called Kevin. There is a hurling club in Buenos Aires by the way as there is a sizeable Irish community there.
So would he be potentially 10 minutes away from being the first Irish person to win the World Cup ?

Is this him?

Absolutely riveting game.

Best extra time I've ever seen. Teams usually just close up shop in extra time. This was enthralling.
Really high level technique and the 2 best teams. Penalties are a lottery.

They're not. Team with better goalkeeper won. Some nations have great records in shootouts and some awful. Not a coincidence.
said the same, Emi Martinez is great in shoot outs, Lloris was terrible, never looked like saving any of them.

Good World cup comes to a conclusion with a very memorable final and some thought it wouldn't work out in December?

All the talk now and many years in the future will be about Messi finally winning the World Cup and having a huge influence in winning it however one can't ignore the role Martinez played in writing history. What a save at the end of extra time and once again did what he does best in shootouts.

Yeah Lloris was a bit like DeGea would be there all night and not save 1. Some terrible penalties from both teams. That Martinez though is cnut shame he was on the winning side

Liverpool's Enzo Fernandez gets the Young player of the tournament
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

What is Macron doing on the pitch after the game and now on the podium. Went over earlier on to console Mbappe, and Mbappe wanted nothing to do with him.

As most politicians do, trying to grab some limelight.

Lionel Messi is to Argentina what Peter Canavan was to Tyrone.

No call for him to be out on the pitch. I'd say he's as popular in France as Varadkar is in Ireland.
