QuoteModern intelligent coaches like Harte and McGuinness have simply said 'let the man do the work' as it's less risky, and more to the point he can now do so due to his conditioning.

As Applesisapples noted, the AI club champions do expect the ball the do the work. Perhaps that reflects your comment about teams playing them not being fit enough to do a Donegal

But they also have players (AK) who work all over the pitch, he picked up the ball in corner back against us in the Ulster final and managed to make it to midfield were the ball was placed kicked to Osin and we were done after that. He's not on his own in that Cross team.

The conditions on any given day too will determine how Cross play.  When it is very wet and mucky they will move the ball through the hand more but on a firmer sod it is kicked consistently.

Which is part of their success, ability to adapt. We play the same (have) way all the time. Hopefully the new manager has changed that a bit, very difficult to change in fairness when it has brought success.

Overall though Ulster football will improve, it's better than the rest and if Donegal maintain anything close to what they have done this year then they will, at worst, make a semi final. Jim I'm sure won't want to be known as a flash in the pan, Dublin seemed to have gone off the rails and never looked like retaining it this year

Evans should have gotten a red, Suarez should have gotten a penalty but didnt, Valencia's was a stonewall penalty and Liverpool got jobbed.

United's form thus far has been underwhelming and to me they look like a team that is going to finish outside the top three, Arsenal seem to be the real deal, City are going nowhere and Chelski are going to be a handful for anybody.

I don't know why united don't play like they did at the start of last season, fast, exciting, attacking play, Liverpool had more possession and looked to be the better team, they will climb out of this mess but they are going to need to invest heavily in a goalscorer or three in January.

Evans had his foot on the ball before he was clattered, it should not have been a sending off either, Valencia's was not a penalty but would it have been a foul outside the penalty box? Suarez was unfortunate not to get a penalty as he was on the ball a fraction before Evans and thus a penalty.

Hard calls for the referee, but I really don't think they have preference for teams and don't give a shite on who wins

Qatar GAC won the St Jude's All Ireland Junior Football 7's at Templeogue on Saturday. They beat the hosts in the Final by 9 points. We (Dundrum) ran Qatar to two points in the Semis while St Judes beat Enda Kenny's Islandeady in the other Semi.
Clonmore Harps from Offaly beat O'Donnells from Antrim in the Shield Final.

Are they still Junior  :o

St Judes run a great tournament every year, both hurling and football. Have played the sevens (with our second string) hurling loads a times and great days craic

Funnily enough most teams in the St Jude's tourney are actually Intermediate teams as it is generally the previous year's Junior champions that are invited. There are a couple of exceptions though.

It is a great tournament and Qatar winning it was quite a turn up for the books as they were the first team from outside the island to do so.

That will be a welcome boost before they hold the World Cup

Here's the antrim websites list of SA team (of which St Endas is one (they must be going on geographical location  :) )

    Ardoyne Kickhams
    Cardinal O'Donnell's
    Eire Óg
    Gort na Mona
    Henry Joy McCracken's
    John Mitchel's
    Lagmore Gaels
    Lámh Dhearg
    Michael Davitt's
    Michael Dwyer's
    O'Donovan Rossa
    Patrick Pearse's
    Patrick Sarsfield's
    Sean McDermott's
    St. Agnes'
    St. Brigid's, Belfast
    St. Enda's
    St. Gall's
    St. John's
    St. Malachy's
    St. Paul's
    St. Teresa's

Somebody fill in what clubs play hurling
and
of those clubs which ones have regular blitzs U8/10/12?

Surely theres enough teams to get a good wee thing going at underage level accross all in Belfast if the will was there (but obviously isnt). Why is NA getting the blame for SA's failure to organise?

I know ourselves, Rossa, the Johnnies and Sarsfields have been running Blitzs every year, but that would be the limit

In bad taste JC, didn't say he himself was looking support MR2, I know for a fact he sorts out all gear himself with sponsorship and his umpires always look like the dogs anytime Ive seen them, again was referring to your club and its overall lack of involvement/support in anything other than football, and you as stated previously where at the sharp end of that stick where you not?

Yeah but I was just wondering what support was he looking for, cause if he were getting something more than me...... ha

I've some borrowed kit off referees including Garret and Ray, expensive referee kits and not freely available in any of the GAA shops, which is a bit tight considering the price and the many variations of kits. I'm not into the fasion side of things myself, top black shorts whistle and a note book with yellow and red cards should be enough.

MR2 could you elaborate on the Shamrocks/Duffy comment?

Yeah Garret will be a great man for the job and referee it fairly. Loughgiel have a tendacy to think they are always up against the rest. Garret won't have any problems calling the shots during the game

Loughgiel will be happy with Garrets appointment I'd say

More than his/your own club from what I hear MR2, get more support from a pair of socks! Nice way to go out though, good luck to him Im sure he,ll be glad to leave it all behind him after this weekend.

Support? What ya on about? I referee and I'm looking for support in what sense? Anyone refereeing to get support is a fool. You referee cause you want to, a bit like playing hurling and football.

FFS MR2 its not about you, I know thats hard to take, but its not! making Ref to your club and its total lack of support which you should be fully aware of from what I hear recently ;)

Hey we all have gripes with our clubs, feck I could write a book about mine!! but you haven't answered my question, what is the support he's looking?

A Few lads to umpire for him and escort him off the pitch at full time in case he gets attacked.

All Galls men

The boot in of our Picaso keeps locking and opening whenever it wants, I think it's possessed, any ideas? The local priest won't do an exorcism

Try paying your tax and he might come out and do something for you!  ;)

Oh the jokes are flying ::)

Surprised that the channel 5 show on last night hasn't been mentioned, Being Liverpool, a very good insight into the inner works of the new set up, Brendan Rodgers comes across as a great fella and man management seems to be a thing he is very good at. Hopefully he does well, mainly cause he's a local lad and I hope he gets enough time for his system of play to be played without getting hounded out

It's shown on Friday nights, last night must have been a repeat.

You're welcome.

Oh, friday nights I'm busy  :o
