Quote from: Truthsayer on December 08, 2024, 04:54:45 PMThere you go Tyrone club championship the most competitive in the land. Relegated team Clonoe very near bate Errigal, lost in a replay... Typical Kilcoo cynicism lost them that ..
Clonoe probably should've won the first game. Pomeroy could've won the first round when they were chasing the goal. Killyclogher could've forced the game to a replay only for Harte last kick of the game. Trillick only lost by a point too. People can have their own opinions but I don't think any other championship is close in terms of how close the teams
I'm sure Clonoe and Pomeroy men will be pondering what if all week...

Their relentless commitment to being complete tramps is somewhat...well, not admirable, but something.

Watched that in real time and couldn't believe there wasn't a word  about it. One very clear strike and one fairly clear. Either could or perhaps should have been red.
Are we just ignoring the initial attempt at a tackle by EC No7 from the outset?

Joe Oguz bossed midfield. Kilcoo battled well when down to 14 but ultimately fell short.

I don't get the hate for Kilcoo when EC are every bit as bad. Kilcoo is like a wee Tyrone enclave nestled in the Mournes

They did well to make it as lengthy as that tbh.

Quote from: general_lee on December 08, 2024, 09:23:10 AMI know someone that runs a popular establishment in the cathedral quarter. Prime location, plenty of footfall etc. £200k pm turnover - I'll eat my hat if any of you can guess what % profit it makes.

5%? After wages rent insurance electric/gas rates food costs if they have food, stock and so on
Lower

Would need to be 1% then as breaking even is living from paycheque to paycheque and not a good model.

In the main (back in the day) 5% was seen as the norm
4% on a good month. It may be the norm but it's barely worth it and this is one of the more popular bars. Place is packed every weekend and busy midweek. They always up their prices and are charging £6+ for a pint. That's before you get into all the shit that comes with running a bar

According to Orchardfans Harps, Silverbridge and Clans will be entering Junior teams along with Dromintee. Has this been confirmed? Makes for 21 teams in the JFC for 2025  :o

Stated that 'The Troubles' did not have two sides... it was "a war imposed by the IRA on its own people". Sickens me to even retype that..
Even if you never supported the IRA, that is an outrageous statement/lie.
He's a horrible bastard, it's the type of revisionist crap you expect from the TUV, DUP & Loyalists

Quote from: Substandard on November 30, 2024, 01:08:24 PMI can't see how referees at club level will be able to manage all changes- picture the disputes over 1 or 2 point kicks, and whether one of 3 up strays into his own half to collect a ball?  From the start, I was thinking 2 refs, one in each half, and given how hard it is to source refs already, that would be a non-runner.
It will make the game look OK at county level, but there's a risk of some serious maulings.  I'd worry about club level, though.  It's a lot happening in one swoop.
Absolutely. I'm sure club refs can't wait for the new season.

Quote from: general_lee on November 28, 2024, 12:37:59 PMDraw a good result. CCV getting some flak for the og but I expect better positioning from the goalie. I'd like to see Valle and Bernardo get more game time at this level. Bit of a Sevconian vibe about the Brugge support so glad they got the goal disallowed.

Schmeichel had moved across to give an option to the previous man to be fair. Your centre half can't just play it back without looking and blame the keeper.
Watch it again and watch what Schmeichel does. CCV was criminally sloppy but the keeper tells Kuhn to pass it to CCV (which he does) while immediately moving at pace away from his 6 yard box looking to be an option. I'd expect better anticipation and chemistry at this level.
CCV, by any credible analysis, was 100% responsible for his panicky decision to blindly send a back pass to his goalie. The main ground rule is that a risky back pass is directed wide of the post. Not only did CCV not know where the goalie was placed but didn't even know where the posts were.

Agreed. CCV is at fault, not disputing that. Keeper wasn't helpful is what I am saying.
