Trying to think of a better more exciting game of ball than this, I'm struggling to be honest. Take a bow Galway & Armagh this was wonderful stuff. The energy, commitment & drive from both teams was breathtaking. Truly one of the great games.
Got to say northern teams bring phenomenal support with them. I mean Kerry & Cork are a disgrace compared to the northern supporters.

After the match, someone said to me, "It wasn't Armagh's day", but they were wrong. Yesterday WAS Armagh's day, and it was one of the all-time great days in Croke Park.
Armagh brought everything to Croker yesterday, the noise, the fans, the colour, the excitement, the atmosphere, the chaos, the unpredictability, the hail marys, the goals, the comebacks, the schmozzle, the penalties. The list goes on.
The media are focusing on the row, but real GAA people will always remember yesterday for the amazing sense of occasion.
The Armagh game was followed by 2nd gear Kerry beating perennial losers Mayo, and was preceded the previous night by boring boring Dublin handpassing around a gutless Cork team who only brought about 300 supporters with them. If this is the sort of safe and sanitized football that RTÉ and the rest of the outraged media want then good luck to them.
Yesterday Armagh people voted with their feet, and thronged to Dublin in their tens of thousands to watch a team that are not afraid.  They rose to the challenge to 'Turn Croker Orange'  Someone has to win, and someone has to lose, but Armagh helped to restore something great to the GAA yesterday. They lost the game, but they never gave up, they made mistakes but were willing to take the risks. If you combine a team like this with the most fervent supporters in Ireland then you create the special kind of aura that we were lucky to witness yesterday and if they can keep that going next year then there is a chance that maybe Armagh can become the Saviours of Gaelic Football.

For anybody that was at the game yesterday it will live long in the memory. It had almost everything you would want and it's no coincidence that Armagh have been involved in some of the best games in the last year or two. At the end of the day football is about enjoyment and nobody could walk away yesterday saying they didn't get value for money. I actually think Armagh have helped paper over a lot of the cracks of modern Gaelic football with their last 3 championship matches.

Ok. Reality check. Galway we're comfortably a 6 point better team. Two flukey goals saved Armagh's blushes.

Add to that our cracking game against Monaghan last year in the heat where Rian O'Neill gave one of the best displays of football I've ever seen.

Hands down the best team in the country to watch but that'll not win you much on its own. We'll keep improving though.

feck I forgot goals don't count when they come from kicking long balls in. Part of the reason we beat Donegal is because we were able to defend Donegal launching high ball in to Murphy in the second half. Galway couldn't and it almost lost them the game. Simple tactic but can be deadly effective.

The scoreboard stated otherwise.

Hold on. How did we move onto Armagh now being the saviours of football and the best team in the country to watch.
Are we now saying they rival the great one-in-a-row team from 2002. Surely not.
This is getting better by the minute.

Orange days in schools, invading the pitch after winning a qualifier, turning croker orange. A county who believed their own hype. Only for a few flukey goals they'd have been well bate and home in plenty of time for songs of praise.

Olly

I was at the match because of the Eagles and I was dismayed at the antics of an Armagh player who when warming up kicked a ball up into the air and it landed flat on a seagull and the Armagh player didn't batter an eyelid. I tired to remsonstrate with an official about it and he looked at me as if there was something wrong with me. Left a bad taste.

Isn't it great to be talked about again, keep it coming lads!

No surer sign that you're on the right track than a few snarky digs from the nearest and dearest.
Doc would listen to any kind of nonsense and change it for you to a kind of wisdom.
