Just for a bit of fun.......

I long to hear  the old, original theme  again on The Sunday Game. I really don't like the newer version  at all. It might as well be a   totally different theme.

Anyway , what's your  verdict?  Which theme do you prefer?

The 80's and 90's  Sunday Game theme

Or...

The more recent  version from the 2010's and  2020's

Think it comes down to age. Younger folk won't be as familiar with he older theme and as children growing up listening to it, it will be the one you will prefer as it lives rent free in your subconscious.  Old one for me

They're pretty similar.  Not too pushed either way.

That's definitely it. The first one brings back more memories, sitting watching the matches with my Da who's no longer with us. Down being good helped too!

Having the sound of the cymbals banging synched up with the video of players smashing into each other gives the old one the advantage.

We run a p5 tournament every year in hurling and football, and as the kids gather up in their lines and parade, we have the old theme blasting out over the speakers as they come down towards the front.. Always makes me smile!

I prefer any version that doesn't have that mutt Joanne Cantwell involved

I'd go with the old one as well but maybe that's an age-nostalgia thing. Some great memories in those images and noticeably most hurlers didn't wear helmets.
