Quote from: Snapchap on Today at 12:48:18 PMIf you're the sort of person for whom immigration is more imporant than healthcare, taxation, education, housing, the cost of living, then you're too f**king stupid to see how you're being manipulated.

Immigration affects health, education and housing.

Give me the stats on the health and housing. Education has been a struggle in the South more to do with the appalling planning by government. Show me the data that says immigration has caused increased waiting times in hospitals. Show me where housing affordability was caused in some way by Immigrants (most of them are rammed into building that were never to be used for housing - old hotels for example)

You forgot the word Temporarily rammed into building that were never to be used for housing - old hotels for example. They do move on and this acerbates the problem.

We had no Ukrainians enter the country last month. The Dole money is poor now and we have a shite climate.
Nigerians were the largest cohort of arrivals.

Some people need to understand weather and climate.

Not here it wasn't as I can mind debating whether (pardon the pun) or not to put on the fire last Summer which i'd never done in any summer prior.
Doesn't Weather refer to short term atmospheric conditions? cos it's been shite for a good while now.
It was the warmest year on record in Ireland.

2023 certainly felt colder than any year of 2020/2021/2022.

July was colder than usual. But months like February, June, December were quite a bit warmer than usual and the average was higher as a consequence.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on Today at 02:38:55 PMIt's is a long wait to the 2nd game, last year i lasted to half time of the Division 1 final after been there for Div 2 Final to beat traffic. Be in no rush this time, try let the Armagh traffic clear.

Extra time in first games is the great unknown, so they build in plenty of extra space for it. Could be penalties too as Armagh are involved.

10 years ago the headline bill in Croker was often delayed for the first game to finish.

Ah so your biggest concern day to day isn't being able to afford to heat the home you can't afford to own, but rather, it's the money the state has to pay for those damn immigrants? Surely if it's true that on a day-to-day bais the health of the states coffers are of more concern to you than your own coffers, then taxation and tax dodging by the superwealthy that ought to be making you mad, instead of the dark skinned fella walking down the street minding his own business?

People have (and had) legitimate concerns that are not being addressed

The government (and Sinn Fein) had an opportunity to tackle this but they caved to the woke NGOs and just started calling people racists and far right

I have 4 immediate family members who are staunch lifelong Blueshirts and they're all voting third party at the next election

I'm not surprised that's the stock you come from.

Tell me, who is this "third party" and what's the name of the candidate?

I used the term third party in the generic sense-ie not FF, FG, SF, PBP, Labour etc

Candidates haven't been declared yet-so it will be some type of protest vote for someone like Aontu or an independent if I were to guess

Ok so who does that leave for them to vote for. Tell me the constituency and I'll even help you find out.

I would say Aontu is a possibility or a good independent who some chance of winning

Constituency?

Quote from: redsetanta on Today at 11:00:47 AMThat game againt the Dubs last night was a tough experience for our lads.

They were blitzed in the first half. Dublin far superior with and without the ball. Don't think they lost one of their own kickouts and turned over plenty of ours.

In fairness to the Laois lads they made a game of the second half and outscored the Dubs.

Next up is Offaly next Wednesday evening. The loser of that one will be out.

Hopefully our lads bounce back.

Big crowd there yesterday but not an ideal spot to hold such a game.

Big crowd.... are you having a laugh ?

We were outplayed and outfought for the majority of the match . Dublin took the foot off the pedal in the second half when the match was over .

Regarding the U20s the other night only for Brown in goal  we were in trouble.  Carlow were/are a poor outfit and they had us on the rocks in the first half .

There is an issue in the CBS regarding the promotion of GAA but that is country wide.

And if the answer is yes-do you support open borders?

All concerns? Not in the slightest. But anyone who regards it as a priority or anything close to one, or who spends more time obsessing about it than about they do about health, education, taxation etc...Well you have to question their motivation.

After all, other than racism or stupidity, why would anyone be angry enough to take to the streets, or to base their voting decisions in protest about immigration ahead of in protest about the state of the health service, or housing crisis, or tax evasion by the super wealthy etc etc etc?
Hear hear... is a very useful distraction used by FG and Tories from those other more pressing issues
