Do they simply not have enough engineers as resplicing a fibre line isn't a big job.

I suppose they don't have technicians sitting around waiting for the wind. They would divert those who normally do installations, but these are not enough.

One issue with rural fibre is that they are putting it all on poles, even where the copper cables were underground, so it is prone to wind damage.

Do Fibrus actually have any engineers or technicians? From what I can see it mostly sub contractors

Still off since Storm Darragh ☹️

Two groups of subbies.

There's different ones for the domestic connections than the ones for the  main infrastructure.

The domestic ones have to come out first, they then report back that it's the main infrastructure and then they come out, about a week at a time between the visits.

Not a good advertisement for Fibrus
Their customer service and after sales is shocking

I tell everyone, always check the aftercare, getting something cheaper elsewhere isn't the best bargain..

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Prone to wind damage but easily accessed and rapidly repaired when it is damaged  :o

There is no alternative really, if you want 21st century broadband. You can get the service off a particular provider, but there will be only one set of people fixing the cable.
