Weather today was horrendous

More of the same tomorrow evening
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

I think it's the first time the final has been cancelled. The semi finals were cancelled a couple of times each I think.

First time since last year  ;)

With the early December date it's always a chance of being called off, year before last should have been cancelled as well - St Killians v St Louis, pitch frozen over - was fairly treacherous.

Suits me. I've been to all the St Killian's games this year but at a wedding tomorrow so wasn't going to make it.

Good to see a bit of common sense used with the Mageean final.... a shame the same sense wasnt used for the senior hurling final.  It had an amber warning also.

To be fair makes an even bigger mockery of that decision or non-decision around the county final.

Any word of a re-fix date, wrong to assume it will be next Friday same time and venue?

Heard 3rd January but yeah, just makes that decision even more laughable

It's easier to move a schools final than a senior county final. Not ideal prep leaving it to after Xmas, not extra turkey for the lads.. the following week of the county final the weather and pitches were poor too. But common sense here as the pitches would be this time of year in far worse conditions never mind the wind/rain

Tuesday 17 December in the Dub

3rd January came from (I assume) the SaffronGael just using their "postponed" graphic from last year (as that's when the refixed game was played)

I assume the county hurlers are back training from the 7th? Anyone in the know as to make up of the panel at this stage and what's the schedule going to be like? It'll be interesting to see what Davey gets out of them... Dublin under lights won't be long in coming around!!  :)

Any decisions on minor & U20 mgt. I heard from a friend Mickey McS was U20 mgr but with the social media posts on football appointments I either missed hurling or none were announced.

Yeah McShane U-20 manager and there are trials on at the minute. Still no minor management in place yet, a few have been asked apparently and no takers yet - which isn't ideal

Sure whoever takes it has to go through the GAA boards approval first before being rubber stamped  ;)

Who have they looked after before, what's their back room team, have they any kids involved, the usuals

Duine Inteacht Eile

There was kind of a big deal made of last year's appointment. I wasn't expecting it to be done in 1 year*.

* Regardless of the year they had.

Not that it matters, if we're ultimately honest.
